There is a bot channel Logan (current name), do not engage with this youtube channel

I call bullshit on this. They're just fooling people to do something stupid, they don't have access to Youtube's internal databases or anything like that.

This makes no sense to me and would be impossible unless you willingly give them your info.

When you subscribe to someone, they don't get your information, at all.

have any of these claims been verified by Google/Youtube?

"oh, i heard about this channel from a friend of a friend who has a brother that's married to someone that had a cousin who had their channel stolen just by subscribing to it"

I don't know, but I have seen these comments from him (logan) out in the wild.

I'm almost tempted to use a spare account with a 25 random digit password and see if that will get "stolen".

Also, apparently, it's "Vakzy" now.

Honestly, this sound more like some kind of creepy pasta than something real. Just the fact that this "Evanz" guy somehow got his account "hacked" after publishing the video... Makes me think it's a hoax.

Pretty much
Just this alone

Could easily be your typical way a "hacker" would try to get your password... Sending your a fake message and getting you to enter your real password. Once they get it, a script automatically change it for real and that's that. It's easy enough to get a phone number, email or some other way of contacting these days by doing a reverse search for their social media presence. People share too much online, they don't realize this shit could bite them in the ass.

or this william evans is the "logan" guy trying to build it up to become viral, or is a friend of the guy.

Maybe. Getting notoriety, building up his subscriber base. They left 3 years ago and only came back last month. But their videos are not that "popular", many are barely reaching to 1k views, up to 4k. As such, a grand plot is devised and... We're here today discussing this crap.

This is the bit that struck me the most: it's rather clearly meant to get curious people to subscribe to the channel, which would definitely give credence to the idea that this is just an attempt at getting lots of attention for the channel quickly and nothing more.

slightly off topic, but seeing how this has blown up I can see many people posting these kinds of comments either for attention for their channel or as a joke

Also if they had access to YT's database what would be the point of waiting for people to accept your friend invite?
