Quick question, how to people build functional PC's under water in a fish tank?

It's not "water" and is normally submerged in mineral oil or some other kind of non-conductive fluid.

That would ruin it alright.  Mineral oil has its issues too.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

That’s pure stupidity, water is conductive, and corrosive, if you try to start up a wet pc, or a pc submerged in water, you will kill it.

Why do you want to build a PC submerged in a fluid of some kind?

Mineral oil PC's have impressively low temps (lower than conventional water cooling), at the expense of high maintenance.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

The theory is it’s totally silent all-over cooling that lasts forever.  The problem is thermodynamics is a harsh mistress.  it isn’t totally silent and it doesn’t last forever and on top of hat 5 gallons of mineral oil is a huge awful mess.  Mineral oil PCs are rarely done more than once.   I remember one attempt at an industrial application.  It almost worked except upgrades turned out to be incredibly brutal and took all the advantage away plus some.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

It looks cool, not much of a performance increase if any

I don’t know if I’m more shocked that someone used this excuse, or that it worked.
