AliExpress GOD PC, OR SCAM?

Logicc
Go to solution Solved by papajo,

Linus needs to buy this so that we can see what's going to arrive I mean ok the specs may be fake but it still could be a good deal for the money they asking like with some GTX 1070's or what not that are like GTX 580s but for the price they are sold they are not a bad deal just scammy name and moded bios but the performance is the same as a GTX 580

Hello guys! So I was recently browsing AliExpress, and I found this PC below with these specs

  •  Intel Core i9 9900K
  •  Enermax Liq 240 RGB
  •  16GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit
  •  NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti 11GB
  •  MSI ATX Z390 Gaming Plus
  •  250GB SSD
  •  2TB HDD
  •  AZZA Inferno 310 Mid Tower ATX Case
  •  700 Watt “Be Quiet” PSU

FOR ONLY $600-799 USD?

At that pricepoint I wouldn't trust the seller one bit. A 2080 Ti alone cost 1000$. Definetly a scam.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

That’s what I was wondering, but every other seller, was selling I7-9700K builds with GTX 1080tis and RTXs for like the same exact pricing?

What I'm wondering about is why you're looking for PCs on Aliexpress in the first place. :D

My advice would be to configure as close as you can on pcpartpicker the same exact system and see the cost there.   Even with a 1080TI or 2080Ti and you can get an idea of a 600-799 being feasible at all.

Well I was bored, and was looking for GPU brand ripoffs,

Another weird thing, I just found another AliExpress supplier, selling this

Intel Core i7-9700K 3.70GHz

nVidia GeForce RTX 2080TI

16GB DDR4 RAM

240GB SSD

The So Called “CyberPowerPC”?
$350 USD wtf?

Yes, I realised that, but AliExpress suppliers are ripping them off for so much!

As well as selling a MSI Gaming X Trio 11GB OC RTX 2080TI GDDR6, for as low as $230 USD? Now that’s a bargain!

Yeaaah, obviously fake. If there are any pictures of the PC, and of the back of it in particular, you should be able to see the GPU's rear IO, if it has a D-SUB (VGA) port, then it's obviously fake.

Other than that, they could've put out fake pictures as well, but honestly, the fact that these sellers can keep operating their obvious scam is mind boggling to me.

I'm genuinely curious what sort of PC you'd receive in the mail... If any PC at all. Would it be some kind of office pre-built from 10 years they've put in a bigger case to make it seems fancier... Or would they have flashed the BIOS to make it report their shitty CPU as being "genuine" parts... (Not to mention the RAM itself... Wouldn't be surprised if it was actually something like, 4GB of DDR3)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200

It's common for scammers to take old cards and reprogram the BIOS so that they appear as a 1080Ti, but they're actually a GTX470 or something... Pretty sure LTT made a video on that.

Falling for Chinese scam products is this generation's version of falling for pyramid schemes or Nigerian prince emails.
