Hi All,

 

Any advice or rating on this custom build? Will mainly be used for (VR) gaming and (VR) Game Development.

Target is to keep it below 1500€ +-

You could go for a better Mobo with plus ~50$ like an ASUS PRIME X470-PRO or MSI X570-A PRO

Hi Constantin,

 

The ASUS Prime X470 doesn't support the Ryzen 7 3series out of the box, BIOS 'd need an update i think... whereas the MSI TOMAHAWK supports its

Just a couple of changes that are better IMO, NVME m.2 for almost the same price, better speed memory, and more HDD space.

Really solid build overall

 

Going from an RM750 to an RM550X would be a welcome improvement but the RM is by no means bad.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

You can go to a shop and update the bios, it wont cost much, but it is worthed.

Don't get a X570 A-Pro, it's the worst X570 out there.

You are wrong, it is a pretty decent mobo with good VRM.

B450 Tomahawk MAX VRM destroy both X470 PRO and X570-A. This is a huge downgrade.

its VRM is the worst part about it..........

 

its among the bottom 2 worst VRMs on x570. in fact the B450 Tomahawk is a much better buy

just swap out the PSU for a 550w TXM since you're not gonna be needing that much wattage anyway. otherwise it's fine.
