What Do You Guys Do for Dating/Making New Friends?

Have been in my current city for quite a few years now. Still don't have any friends here. Basically go to work, work out, and come home. Meetups here are lame and online dating is over saturated to the point where I can't even get an obese girl to go out for coffee haha. Live in a college town and I'm 28, so that probably doesn't help. Wish I could just get out and fit in somewhere.

If I want to make friends then I just go to interesting people and talk to them. Maybe join an interest group?
A band? Or start playing football or something where you meet a bunch of people.

 

Admittedly my country is one of the easier places in the world to make friends. Idk how people do it in places where even eye contact is a social travesty

I'd suggest living in a shared house, it can introduce you to a lot of new people. Is there a good social scene at work? That could get you out there and it's amazing how easy it is make friends while drunk, you just have to give sober you a veto on pursuing the friendship the next day.

I have two roommates. One is okay, can't stand the other one. They're both much older. There is 0 social scene at work lol. We don't have many employees.

Depends what you are looking for ^o^ Socializing or dating? 2 different "strategies"

More seriously, I don't where (geographically) you are, but where I am there is a "dedicated website" for people who feel lonely and are looking for other people to mainly share time and activities... Whether it's going to the movies, the concert, museum, hiking, restaurant, barbecue, etc.

IF you happen to meet someone who reciprocitates the interest, THEN all's well and bright and life is wonderful for however long it lasts.

If not... well... you'll have spent a nice time with people who share the same kind of interest and that's good to.

 

As for dating... well can't really help you there with good advices or have any "pearl of wisdom" to share... People are too complicated and I'm an utter failure socially speaking, or my tastes are too "specific" and I'm (still) an utter failure socially speaking. ^o^
