Agreed. Sometimes you get a 30s ad with no option to skip.  This takes 2s.

I hate when instead of an ad it starts playing a 4 minute video. Stupidest thing ever, especialy if I have Youtube in the background and I'm playing a game.

It actually once started playing some weird video about GabeN knows what. (I put a screenshot below)

So I just went to watch a RoosterTeeth video and instead of an ad I got a YouTube Survey.  The question was "Where does your dog sleep?" and it was multiple choice... Gave me 10s to answer then as soon as I answered the video started.  Weird Ive never seen this before.  It looked legit too and didnt redirect me to another page.

 

 

Anyone else had this before?

For myself, turning off Adblock is out of the question; not because I don't want to support YouTubers, but because I watch so much YouTube that there's an ad every single time I start a new video. I wouldn't mind it if the amount of ads was based on actual video viewtime, but after you watch x-amount, ads will show everytime you start a new video. If it just counted say 10-15 minutes worth, like TV advertising works, no problem. I argue this because some videos I start watching and then get distracted by related videos, so technically I don't always watch the whole video.

 

Also, for big name publishers such as IGN and VEVO, I will never support them via ads as the entertainment industry makes money off record sales, and as far as I'm concerned, music videos are advertisements in their own right. I support the indie artists, bloggers, vloggers, and YouTube reviewers such as LinusTechTips and TekSyndicate because they're bringing me content I enjoy.

Adblock here, but hmm, how can you disable ads on android devices? That poll is something new, never saw it before.
