Hello all!

I am doing my first PC build soon, and I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good $100 mechanical keyboard, and a good $60 keyboard. I am asking for both because I may need to cut my budget a bit, and want to keep my options open.

Thank you!

The Corsair K68 and K63 red LED keyboards both fit your top budget, and maybe close to the lower depending on if you find a deal on them.  K63 is a TKL if you don't want a numpad, and K68 is a standard layout with IP32 dust and water resistance.  Both use Cherry MX Red switches, and are fully customizable with iCUE.  Let me know if you have any questions about either model.

i personally love my corsair strafe mk2.  you could probaly find the first version for under $100. In terms of a good $60 keyboard, i beleve that logitech makes some decent ones

Best "starting" keyboards are the samples in retail stores, they let you feel the different switches before buying a keyboard with money.

I really like the offerings from Cooler Master. I have a Masterkeys MK 750 with MX browns that I love to bits but they have a lot of other offerings with and without RGB and with different switch options (Cherry MX Reds, Browns and Blues for sure. Maybe others) they also do hybrid and tenkeyless keyboards as well if you don't want a full size one.

The Anne Pro 2 is nice. Double shot PBT keycaps, BT, USB-C, and available with Gateron and Box switches. Both of which are much preferable to Cherry switches.

If you need a bigger form factor, the Masterkeys PBT. Also with double shot PBT keycaps, but unfortunately only available with Cherry switches.

Various Red Dragon keyboards seem to be the go to for the cheaper ones.

:)

100% agree with @Corsair NickI used the original red LED Strafe keyboard for years until I got the K68, the K68 is a fantastic keyboard. It has a wonderful feel and the durability with the dust and waterproof aspect is a huge plus in terms of pricepoint. It's a good budget board and I used mine for several months until the Strafe MK.IIs dropped and I picked one of those up. I personally have never had an issue with Corsair's keyboards. If you're going for a nice mechanical keyboard on a budget the K68 is where it's at, can find them for really good prices most of the time and they go on sale pretty often.

Im the type that tends to stay away from gaming brands for all my peripherals except for mice. I would recommend something like a ducky one 2. they are great starter mechanical keyboards and aren't hated by the overall mechanical keyboard community unlike anything made by razer or corsair.

My Ducky One 2 Mini MX Silent Red is beautiful and it's lovely to work on it for everyday use. Build quality as a prebuilt keyboard is great, so many features, RGB is awesome if you are an RGB person. Even I'm not an RGB guy but the Ducky One 2 RGB features are awesome!
