Update: As of 2/17, the 120GB version is $66.

 

It's a great value ssd and I've worked with a good number of these. They feel quite better in person than they would seem to from the pictures with a sort of hard matte metal casing. Anyway, it's hard to go wrong with it.

I'm not sure when the sale ends or when it will go out of stock so grab one while you can!

Ya I love my 120gb so far got it back a few weeks ago, first one into map in bf4 :D

I'm still all about the Samsung 840 Pro series, but I will definitely tell a few buddies of mine about the sale. Currently they all just run off of 7200 rpm HDD's, so hopefully I can convert them. :D

i was just about to post this

i have the 120GB version of this, and it's pretty fast, not quite as fast as the hyperX one, but it's pretty much the best bang for the buck i would say.

these go on sale ALL the time, so if you cant pick up one now, just wait till the price drops again

Because I can't buy this in Canada, as it is amazon.COM and not .CA. Kind of a pain in the a$$ to check every deal, only to find that you can't take advantage of it. Read the guidelines.

I would traditionally put Newegg Canada in the title if it was for Canada but not for US because the website for the US doesn't say Newegg US but it does say Newegg CA for Canada.

Yes I understand, that's why putting amazon.com in title tells me (and every canadian) instantly to keep looking for something else. It doesn't mean it's for US only, just not for Can or UK(not sure).

Newegg is only in Canada and US.

My 60GB V300 SSD gets up to 540 MB/s 4k random reads with 460 MB/s 4k random writes when its only rated for 450 MB/s both ways. I've been running mine for a few months now without any issues so. I could recommend this brand of drives, they are faster than what the package suggests. So far pretty reliable for being a cheap drive. Tho take note based on reviews newer models seem to have been reduced in build quality, and the latest firmware doesn't appear to be all that good.

I've been eyeing both the 840 and SSDNow. For $10 more you get 20 more gigs when you buy the EVO 500GB at $309 compared to Kingston's 480GB at $299. 50 cents an additional gig ain't bad. My first SSD experience was a Kingston Hyper X. They say that if they're bad, they'll die within a few hours to days. Mine lasted 7 months as an OS drive with no games. I'm 4 months in on my replacement, so I'm expecting to purchase a different SSD soon. I'll continue to RMA my HyperX until the 5 years is over.

The 840 Pro line of Samsung drives are as good as it gets right now. The EVO drives are also superb drives, tho recent tests show they aren't exactly worth the money to heavy I/O users. EVO drives start reallocating bad sectors after 400 TB of data has been written to them (thanks to TLC NAND). Which is quite a number to reach, most standard home users wont ever reach that before its time to upgrade (409,600 GB). Tho it is something to take into consideration if you buy these drives for extremely heavy I/O tasks. Otherwise I agree the Samsung lineup of drives are the best on the market. Tho for $69 you cannot beat the price-per-GB ratio for these Kingston SSD's.

I didn't know about the 400TB average. Mine, after 4 months has 4600GB to NAND. As for the $/GB, I've only been looking at 480GB drives and higher, so thanks for that info as well.

I bought the 120g version this past weekend. It wasn't $194. 

Decent deal amazon is offering, but I wish they wouldn't bullshit the consumer on the 'list price'.

Just nabbed one using the referral link :D . my old 120GB drive was looking a little cramped with how much space windows keeps changing my page-file to every time i change my hardware ... stupid 32GB ram. Now I'll be able to keep my main games on the ssd and move the olf 120 to my laptop.
