1660 Ti or 2060?

Okay, just noticed the 1660Ti launched, many told me I should maybe wait for that card. Is there any compelling reason I should NOT buy a 1660Ti and go with a 2060? I personally don't care that much about raytracing, I am just looking for a good card for the budget I have which is no more than $350 for the card. I want to complete my system so I can't really wait for Navi because my 90% done system is just sitting there collecting dust. So, what should I do?

Or should I go with AMD's offerings such as the 590 or the Vega 56?

And I noticed other manufacturers also had some like Zotac's double fan version for $279. I know about EVGA'S AMAZING customer service. So your recommendation is going with a 1660Ti?

The Vega 56 air cooled MSI can be found for $250 on Newegg, they perform similar. However, the 1660 Ti will OC better and have better coolers than a blower.

The RX 590 really is not on pair here. Its performance is meant to surpass the GTX 1060, which is does, but its still inferior to a GTX 1070 and 1660 Ti.

Personally, for a 1080p card Id still go with this over the Vega 56 and RX 590.  If you have the money pushing to an RTX 2060 will give you an extra 20% overall.

Yeah I will be buying a card soon but I do expect prices to fluctuate as I have to wait for the money to come in.

Easy. Used Vega 64 or 56. Either could beat both of those cards.

I would get a Red Devil, Nitro+ or Saphire Pulse.. Awesome cards at great value..

Yeah, I know the blower fans aren't great, I personally don't like the single fan design although this is my personal opinion. I do agree the 590 is not on par with the 2060 or 1660Ti for sure. So I may just take those out of my consideration unless they drop to ridiculously cheap.

I may look at the used market but I personally prefer buying new, less risky. Unless it was someone I knew personally or the seller allows a return if it doesn't work, then I probably wouldn't go that route, but thanks for the reply.

I prefer new as well, but the prices they're going for on eBay is just tempting lol.

I actually bought a used Vega 56 Strix and had great luck with it before selling it to another member in this forum for $300.

Yeah, used prices are tempting and I was thinking about it myself but I am personally afraid I will get a bad card and not be able to return it and that is the risk and reward scenario one has to deal with. I am glad you did have good luck with the used card. Thanks for the recommendation and I may buy used. I am not completely keeping that out of my consideration. Especially if I can save a lot of money doing so.

1660 Ti is a useless card even $5 over MSRP. Save the money and buy an RTX 2060, the MSRP price difference isn't compelling enough to make this new 11 series worth while

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

I have money to buy either. I heard the cards were similar so I thought I could save money by buying a 1660Ti.

I hear ya.. I asked questions and made sure their reputation was close to 100% with at least 50 reviews and no new accounts.

The decent sellers on eBay won't really fuck you over because they (eBay) offer guaranteed money back whether the seller supports it or not.

You can still find great deals with them on sale at places like Newegg every now and then. I got my liquid 64 for $499 on sale with 3 games.

That's honestly my thoughts on it. I think real-time raytracing is cool but from what I have seen from reviewers is that it isn't worth it YET because there isn't many games that support that tech yet.

I am still a little wary of used cards and I would still prefer to buy new for it's less risky. I don't disagreee that the 1080Ti would be more powerful. Can you get a new one for that price?
