1660 Ti or 2060?

Neither. Used 1080 Ti. Kicks the 2060 or 1660 Ti up and down all day long at about the same price ($325ish)

This is just plain wrong.

And I noticed other manufacturers also had some like Zotac's double fan version for $279. I know about EVGA'S AMAZING customer service. So your recommendation is going with a 1660Ti?

To be honest I prefer the GTX 1070 for its 8gb vram.

6gbs vram is getting to be the new minimum so if a 1070 can be gotten for about the same price I think it could last longer.

Having 6gbs vram as never been a issue with me at 1440p but games are getting harder to run.

That is why I was looking at a new 580 over the 1060 but I have a bigger budget than what I originally thought. I wish they did the 2060 or 1660Ti in an 8GB config.

Okay, just noticed the 1660Ti launched, many told me I should maybe wait for that card. Is there any compelling reason I should NOT buy a 1660Ti and go with a 2060? I personally don't care that much about raytracing, I am just looking for a good card for the budget I have which is no more than $350 for the card. I want to complete my system so I can't really wait for Navi because my 90% done system is just sitting there collecting dust. So, what should I do?

2060 is still ~10% faster than 1660ti. If you find a 1660ti for under $300, go for it. Otherwise I'd just spend the extra 12% more to get a 2060, take the extra 10% performance, and you'll have the RT and Tensor cores if Ray Tracing and DLSS ever do randomly take off and are good.

There are only waterblocks for a 1080Ti. No cards, I looked and you can't get one. The cheapest I saw when quickly scrolling was $405. I also saw a Vega 56 that was going for $1 as the starting bid. Are you sure these aren't cards you bid on?

And here is a card you bid on. And it's a blower style. Nope...

If you're set on a brand new card, then definitely go for the 1660ti. It's better value by a long shot.

If you're willing to go used then I'd look at the GTX 1070 which is similar performance looking at benchmarks and should be a bit less. Or you might be able to get a 1070ti for the same money as the 1660ti.

If you're hesitant about used then you can quite often find refurbished cards that are a similar price and have a warranty. Personally though, looking at the performance and these prices I'd be tempted to just go straight for the 1660ti right now. I bought a refurbished 1070 a few months ago for what these cards have launched at and to be honest I'm glad I did cause I feel like i kind of got the 1660ti 2 months early (with a bit more VRAM to boot)

2060 25% faster > 1660Ti 23% faster > 1060 6Gb.

1660Ti will be great upgrade from 1060 6Gb only for any of the 1660Ti custom card which not more than $300. Because you can get 2060 at around $350. So less than $300 1660Ti is good, but over $300 1660Ti is not worth it because there is 2060 there..

I am considering buying used but kind of not as much as some would expect. It is more if an unbeatable deal comes up on a used card and it isn't an eBay bidding war. I don't want to bid on stuff honestly.

They have the ZOTAC and EVGA model of the 2060 for $350. The extra cash savings from buying the 1660Ti is compelling though. I probably need to do more research on the 1660Ti on my own but I am trying to get the community's opinion as well.

You are right. I agree. I'm still running GTX 1060 6Gb for World of Tanks and Monster Hunter World. When it runs WoT it's flawless 120 FPS, but when it runs MHW at stock clock speed it only can run 46 FPS (graphical settings all maxed out), it's just like the review here

Spoiler

but currently I overclock my 1060 to its limit and run the MHW at 85 FPS (graphical settings all maxed out with volumetric rendering = off). I'm also considering to upgrade to either the <$300 1660Ti or just get the 2060 at all, no chance for the >$300 1660Ti it's simply not worth it.

So it is variable on how much money is available. Out of curiosity which 2060 model would you buy? I honestly like the ZOTAC 2060 with two fans.

Based on 2060 review, the best overall 2060 is the Gigabyte with the 3 fans not the one with the 2 fans, Evga XC Ultra second it, and the best cheap 2060 is the mini Gigabyte, while the extreme 2060 is the Asus Strix which is overpriced (not worth it).

I tend to put my interest to either the EVGA 1660Ti XC Ultra or RTX 2060 XC Ultra since I only can fit 2 slots thick dual fans graphics card, cant use bigger size than that like 2.75 slot thicc with 3 fans.

Oh okay. I like the ZOTAC because it seems like a good deal and as said earlier, I personally don't like the idea of only one fan cooling the card. But everyone's system is different so I can't really comment if bigger cards can't fit. I have a Full Tower Phanteks Enthoo so it could support a lot of crap before it's full.

Dude 2060 is nowhere near 25% faster on average. It's between 10% and 20% depending on the reviewer (Depends on the model, which games they test, whether or not they OC, resolution, ect.) It's around 15% faster.
