Just decided to get into PC gaming! Is this a good PC to buy?

anon1250

I’ve been playing games on console almost my entire life and just recently wanted to get into VR. I’ve looked at Playstation’s VR setup, but I don’t think it’ll be good enough and I really want to go all out! I’m not at all familiar with how to build a PC, so I think it’ll be easier to just go with Pre-Built. I was looking at this PC from Cybertron (I know they’re a pretty solid brand), but I’m not familiar enough to know if this is the best PC to buy. I really love the aesthetic look of it, but I was wondering if I could get some advice from you more experienced computer people.

Thank You! ?

That's a whole lotta cash!

The SLI (dual video cards) isn't all that useful these days

and 64GB RAM is overkill. You can easily get away with half that.

There are better deals out there

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Unless you're packing a 4K or a 144Hz 1440p monitor and you want to maximize getting the most of it, no, that computer isn't worth it. Besides that it's using an older CPU, has way too much RAM (yes, there's such a thing), and meh storage capacity on the SSD for the price. On top of that, if a game you want to play doesn't have an SLI profile, you're going to have to make one yourself to get any benefit out of SLI.

Go find something with a 9th generation Core processor or a second generation Ryzen with a single GPU. More up to date, much less hassle to deal with. And if you were willing to plunk down that much money for a PC, you can use the difference to buy a good monitor and a higher capacity secondary SSD since I'm sure most system builders only include an HDD for the data drive.

EDIT: Looking at it more deeply, that computer's price would've been fair... in 2016.

no way dont buy that, its way over priced for what your getting. You could build a much better system for about 2,000 less

It's not that hard for you to build your own, give it a whirl.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

And if you really don’t feel comfortable with building your own, although I really think pretty much anyone could do it without issues, follow the example of LTT’s recent secret shopper videos. That should give you an idea of a few places that would be better options to go with.

@subtora i have had bad experiences with cybertronpc. they had not checked the components they sold to me and disconnected a lot of crap. then blamed me for it not working. you can take this with a grain of salt if you please, but it's just my opinion.

I would get this for a WHOLE setup. for the same price as just that tower -

I understand if you don't want to build your own PC. But honestly, this PC you are suggesting is TERRIBLE value.

- The CPU is outdated! like 3 generations behind current 9th gen.

- The GPU's are outdated, and SLI (meaning multiple GPU's in the same system) is NOT a good idea. (does not perform well in all games)

- 64 GB RAM is way overkill and a waste of money.

This PC must be old stock or something, with those outdated specs.

Given your large budget, I would advise you shop around for these types of specs:

- CPU: i7 9700K or better. Or AMD 2700X or better

- GPU: GTX 2080 or better

- RAM: 16GB or 32GB, make sure it is 3000MHZ or higher.

- SSD for fast bootup times, as opposed to only a hard drive.

- Rest of the components matters less. Focus on the CPU, GPU and RAM being good if you are buying a pre-built.

Good luck!
