Pretty normal, but i dont understand the 1tb hdd at all?

With your budget you could just go with 2x 1tb SSD's and call it a day?

Also why do you have fans in the case from 3 different companies? I would just go all NZXT.

But other than that it is a very good build.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Overall, looks pretty good to me. However, the Kraken X62 is a pretty overpriced AIO, in my opinion. But if you have your sights set on it, pull the trigger.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Why are you going with the 8700k and not something newer?

Hell, for that monitor a 9600k would be just as good, if you're just gaming.

I'd go with pure SSD storage.

If you're going to use the hub, that case is good. If not save the money and get the standard H500.

I'd get fans of the same type.
I wouldn't get an MSI motherboard.

Your mobo needs 2 cpu connectors, 1x8 pin plus 1x4 pin.

The PSU on the list has only one CPU connector 1x8 pin.

It's not required. It's extra for OC headroom but everything would work without it (the motherboard should come with a splitter though, just in case)

This is what I would change to your build. The zotac 2080ti is 100 solar cheaper and is a really good card. Just get a 1tb 860evo and call it a day. No need to buy a HD at all and you can always add more storage later if you run out.

Yeah, gotta spend that extra cash for that extremely negligible improvement in games right?

Just because one has a large budget doesn't mean they have to spend it all.

Yeah mine has the same thing and I don't use the 4 pin and it works just fine. Only the 9900k would actually beinfit from the extra 4 pin.

It's not negliagble though. Maybe in some games it doesn't matter but in the new AC it for sure matters as well in many other games for frame time consistency. Yeah if all you do is look at a average fps then yeah it may look like they preform the same but they really don't. New games are starting to use more and more threads and only having 6 of them is going to hit performance in many of them. Look at the 4 core i5s. People said the same exact thing and yet if you look at 4 core i7 vs i5 in newer games now you can clearly see that the i5s are not holding up nearly as well. If they are spending 3 grand on a pc there is no reason to buy an i5 because it will just become outdated much much sooner and already performs worse than the i7 in quite a few games.

It may not come with an adapter but your claim that the extra 4 pin is required is near impossible to do research on. What I was able to find was this video which makes no mention of requiring a 4 pin extra, and the configuration showcased featuring only an 8 pin while still overclocking makes me feel as though 8 pin EPS would be sufficient, and it would be downright irresponsible for MSI to disable overclocking should the 4 pin be lacking. Also, PCPartPicker not flagging it should be the first indication that it's perfectly fine.

It will work just fine, i myself did not plug the extra 4 pin connector as i did not OC my system except turbo and enhanced boost.

But it is needed for over 5Ghz OC for safer stability.

Well it certainly would help with 5GHz + stability, but again, I doubt it's necessary. If OP is going for an extreme overclock then it would be nice to have but something about the build doesn't make me feel like that's the case (lower frequency ram, value oriented OC motherboard, etc)

@pown otto what is your OC target? Hopefully you get a lucky chip, my CPU does 4.6 on a nice low voltage so ideally you'll get to enjoy those nice low temps as well.

Alright, well you shouldn't misinform him by saying the extra 4 pin is required

This is misinformation. The motherboard does not need 4 more pins, it can accommodate them.

Additionally, people have been able to go above 5GHz on coffee lake CPUs with only 8 pin CPU power so I wouldn't even consider it particularly helpful for an everyday OC.

The original MSI board would probably be better, the power delivery is more robust with more VRM phases.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Your mobo needs 2 cpu connectors, 1x8 pin plus 1x4 pin.

The PSU on the list has only one CPU connector 1x8 pin.

Misinformed again... :)

Do some research mate before posting, people need help and depend on our replies.

I have the same motherboard and it does not come with and extra adapter.

This connector is needed for overclock!

You don't need the 4 pin to overclock unless you're maybe using LN2. I hate to burst your bubble. And the way you defended the 4 pin clearly lead us to believe that it was a requirement to use, which it is not. Because that mobo does not need an 8 pin AND a 4 pin with that CPU.
