Vista systems generally are capable of running Windows 10 well (better than 7 in my experience recently)...so maybe?

Now I'm tempted to use the "Windows XP Vista Ultimate Upgrade" pack that I got recently to see how well my "Vista capable" laptop (Asus F3l; Pentium T2370, 2GB DDR2 max, 160GB WD Scorpio, shitty Intel mobile 965 chipset) does.
Note that unlike another laptop that I worked with recently (started with Vista, then upgraded to 7 and eventually 10 without re-installing ever) W10 runs like shit on the F3L. Though that other laptop's new Core 2 Duo T9400 is far faster than the far newer A8 4555M in my now decommissioned ultraportable. And even the original Pentium T4200 had no problems with Windows 10 (apart from never coming close to its base clock unlike the C2D).

My first PC (2004):
Running Windows Xp with a Intel Pentium 4, mobo: p4vma-m v7.8 , GPU: sapphire radeon 9600 pro advantage 256mb, RAM: 512 MB Veritech DDR-400 PC-3200
It came with a CD drive, 120 GB storage on a 3.5 inch Hard drive and a 450/500 PSU...my good old days playing"Imperivm" and feeling against the system cause I was downloading the world(and viruses too)with "eMule"?

i have this old Pentium II, I also have a dual-socket Slot A MOBO that it fits onto. I'll have to post pics and maybe try to get it running again, maybe try to get a web server running on it with some form of linux? I dunno but it could make for a neat gaming rig

Top one is most likely a GeForce MX of some kind just judging by the layout and the empty space for a dvi converter chip

The other is a Quadro FX 4500

The top says 3DFX on the back of the card.

A friend just bought this online:

1080417937.thumb.jpg.bf33ed8096094189f10facadca0c14a1.jpg

He said he's gonna use for calendar and reminders and such and was excited that it syncs with early MacOS - and by early I mean pre-OSX! ?

I said already laughing ? :

Mate really? (We're in New Zealand so here mate is the same as dude in North America)

I mean you know this thing you got in your hands that you're using right now to send me those messages? Yeah that thing has many more options, much more power and dozens of times more storage plus it's smaller than that by A LOT!

? ? ?

He was undeterred though and went on and on about it and I just laughed ?

Told him if he said he bought it because it looks cool I would be more wiling to agree but to say he bought it for its usefulness? Nah lol

What do the lights on the RAM indicate?

they indicate post codes on most motherboards during startup, then once an OS is loaded they switch to indicate usage

though there is some software you can use to make them do whatever, some people used them as graphical equalizers for music

That's really cool.

Here i am again, been a long time, have a few more things to show off.

Not the oldest thing, but old now for me :P. My old 5960x hehe.

Then 2 old cards that need no explaining.

Nvidia-8800GT-with-cooler.thumb.JPG.1ad741bfee7664c9918d21d0ff343976.JPG

The 8800GT was LOUD AF, and even that is a HUGE understatement. This cooler ramps up to the max when you turn it on and it won't stop until you turn ur pc off. Which you would do within a minute if it was released today :P. I replaced the cooler with a zalman VF1000, which you will see below.

Now for the parts that aren't that obvious. First a PowerColor Radeon 3650 AGP 512MB DDR2. It's cooler was dead when i found it. Had the old Zalman VF-1000 lying around from the 8800GT days so i slapped it on and it worked :D.

So in my last post from long long ago i mentioned i had a 2nd radeon 9700pro, i tracked it down recently and put a zalman cooler on it (original fan was dead.... happens a lot with these old AGP cards). Its a HiS Excalibur 9700pro maybe, but i remember it having different heatsinks on it.

My old Raptor collection. Bottom left is a 36GB Raptor i saved from certain death. Next to it are 2 150GB raptors i bought new when i bought my q6600 pretty much 10 years ago now (might be more.... im getting old). Above them are 3 1TB raptors i bought new 6 or 7 years ago. They always ran in RAID-0 and were my game recording array. All 6 are still in perfect working condition.

I also fixed the old Dual P3 1Ghz machine i posted before, it had 3 blown caps on it which caused it to crash after 30 seconds or so of intense gaming. It is now stable as ever and has gone through multiple sessions of several hours of gaming without crashing :D. Can't find the after pictures atm. Prepare yourself for cringe when i post it.... i'm terrible at soldering lol.
