How to approach Linus at PAX

Im going to PAX this weekend and because Im an awkward 14 year old I dont know how to approach him. Id just like to take a photo and have him sign my backplate. Im not a dumbass and am going to approach during shooting, but what tips do you guys have?

If you have Twitter go onto Linus's personal account and leave a Tweet saying you will be at PAX and would like a photo and a signature if possible.

Linus is also human, just think about how you would want to be greeted.  Probably with a nice hello, maybe a compliment or whatever, but just remember he probably gets 20 of those "I am a big fan of your work" compliments every day, so maybe try to make it more original

Im not planning to do the "DUDE IM YOURE BIGGEST FAN" maybe something like "Hi Linus, Ive been watching your videos for a while and would love to get your autograph and a picture if you dont mind"

You should  tell him that you are a part of his community, that's a lot better than "I watch your videos"

 

Also, mention my name, he then will be so confused that he does everything you want because he never heard of my name.

Get a sign with bright LEDs arranged in the word "LINUS". Extra points if you use an old motherboard as the actual sign.

Have a T-shirt made with Linus' face on it and then strap LED RGB light strips and have them pulsating.

Honestly though, I would make too big of a deal out of it.  Try to be quick, and just make it clear what you want.  Don't spend 5 minutes explaining how you're a fan, etc... I think he has probably gotten this enough to assume that's the situation when people want stuff

Alright....what you need to do is find something expensive that he's standing near and make it accidentally fall. He will feel much better that it's not himself dropping it and should sign anything you want. 

 

Seriously though. Just walk up to him when he's not busy. Speak politely and he should have no issues. He's a nice guy. He actually does care about his fans and followers.

1. Have Sharpie and Notepad ready in both hands

2. When you spot him across the room, run up to him with hands waving in the air, while screaming at the top of your lungs

3. Dodge any PAX security that's trying to tackle you.
