Getting this back on topic, I guess we can take away a few things from this.

1. The initial price leaks were $100 low iirc
2. it's coming on March 2

what were the initial leaks? did you subtract the 100 off the amazon price for the AIO?

I thought the 1800X was going to be $400, but I could be mistaken.  Here it's looking like $500 without the AIO

I thought it was $389 for the 1700X and $499 for the 1800x or are you talking about even older leaks?

Pretty much exactly what I was expecting pricing wise after seeing the leaks.

I wonder if the R5 1400x will stay $199, or if that will change too. I imagine the 1600x will be $299.

I live in Canada, so I expect those prices to go up by at least 30%(a bit more than that).

That $399 CPU would be over 500$ here. Not to mention the 14.975% sales tax(5% federal, 9.975% provincial) on top on that so it would be nearly 600$.

 

I'm also talking in relation to the usual CPU pricing from AMD we've been used to in the past couple years, they were generally quite a bit lower than this.

It's not expensive if you compare it to what Intel offers.

AMDs top chip is about on par with what a 6 core i7 would cost you.

Want 8? The 6900k is almost $1,400.

 

They've been on many year old tech for a while now. So naturally it'll be cheaper.

Nice! So they're within $10usd of the leaked prices and will go down possibly to the believed $389/489 after the actual launch.

 

The packaged deal price with the H100i AIO almost got me heh.

I REALLY hope that whatever MSRP AMD announces, that is what we the consumers can buy it for. I will not pay the inflated hype fee. It also better not go out of stock within a day and then make everyone wait a month to purchase one because everyone on eBay are selling them for 2X the price. <-- The inflated hype fee.

 

I hope AMD realizes the amount of hype behind this and have enough stock... Like I sincerely hope that.
