best "bang for the buck" speakers?

IITomasII

okay so I'm getting a new rig around Christmas and I currently don't have any speakers. what would be the best price to performance ratio speakers out there? I'm personally a bass head myself and would like a set with a sub woofer or a lot of bass in it. my budget would be around $100 to $500. appreciate if you would help with this decision :)

Best bang for the buck? $1 speakers as all speakers do the same thing which is output sound...obviously much better than those that cost more than $500 :D (no seriously, price to performance wise, $1 speakers are the best).

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

You need to give a budget, the best bang for buck would be free speakers from craigslist which cost $0 and make sounds. But I doubt that's what you're looking for.

NEW PC build: Blank Heaven   minimalist white and black PC     Old S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

Spoiler

Ryzen 3950X | AMD Vega Frontier Edition | ASUS X570 Pro WS | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB | NZXT H500 | Seasonic Prime Fanless TX-700 | Custom loop | Coolermaster SK630 White | Logitech MX Master 2S | Samsung 980 Pro 1TB + 970 Pro 512GB | Samsung 58" 4k TV | Scarlett 2i4 | 2x AT2020

Ah shit, you're correct, that's even better than the $1 speakers I suggested...

The Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 is pretty good at about $125 or so. Not anywhere near as good as my old Logitech Z-2300 (that motherfucker thumped like hell), but that 2.1 system hasn't been in production for years and the volume console is known to die early in it.

One buck is one buck.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Considered building your own?

Often get better "bang for the buck" out of DIY speakers than pre-built kits.

All you need is a bit of soldering and woodwork ability.

I'd recommend you find a design you like (don't try and design your own, it's very very complicated), find someone who sells the woodwork pre-cut, stick the drivers and crossover in, glue it up, paint/wrap/decorate it and you're ready to go!

Hope this helps :)

Logitech Z623 but might be a bit low for your budget, great sound though. Otherwise audioengine a5+

The JBL LSR 305 are great, really good for their price and well I think that they look nice and since you like bass add a sub like the BIC America F12- One
