Steam Now Selling Movies

So i just noticed that Steam are now selling movies. If you pre ordered Mad Max on Steam you get a free copy of Mad Max: Fury Road to watch on September 21st but they also have all 3 of the old movies for sale too.

 

It appears that purchased movies will be a downloadable file which appears to be yours to keep, no word on any form of DRM yet.

And maybe they'll do it better then all the other shit services. If you can just download a movie I wouldn't mind buying quite a few. My Internet is shit so I can't use any streaming service but this would work. I guess I'll need more HDDs

You know what, I was looking for something like that (a movie search) and I couldn't find it.

 

Ok so I guess the difference is these are the first of what you'd consider blockbuster movies and not indie, short or low budget titles but still, I was wrong

Steam could become huge for streaming/ watching movies, if they offer something that the competition isn't doing, i.e 4k movie streaming/downloads. I know netflix is doing it but only in limited numbers for 4k smart TV's I think.

They've been doing this for a while. They have a couple of movies like portal 2 final hours and I think that Indie game movie

After having one of the worst customer experiences ever with steam. I can't see myself spending another dime with them. I would rather stop playing video games than to give steam my money .
