Here is the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 in Hand

6God

I don't know if this has been posted already but I found this on Droid Life about the Note 5. Looks like a slick phone, but its not packing a SD card slot or even a removable battery, which IMHO is a step back. Power user phone, why does it have casual consumer features?

I'm sure some Note 3 and 4 fans are going to be unhappy come upgrade time, I know I am. When you bag on a phone on a daily basis, all the mAh in the world isn't enough to last a day. Being able to swap batteries is a boon. I could've swallowed the non-removable battery had it been 4000mAh+ but it only being 3000? And with how bad Android can be at efficient use? Its a big gamble.

What you are seeing here is the Galaxy Note 5 in the flesh, in hand. It looks a lot like a bigger Galaxy S6 with its metal frame and glass panels, but it differs in that the back has an Edge-like curve to it, likely to make it easier to hold. We are seeing the S Pen slot on the bottom (which we are told is spring loaded), regular USB port (not USB Type-C), single bottom speaker and headphone jack, and some crazy thin bezels surrounding the display.

In terms of specs, we are being told that the phone has 4GB RAM, no SD slot, 32/64/128GB storage options, and a 3000mAh non-removable battery.

What is getting my goat is why all the holes aren't lined up. Just why. Why Samsung. Bottom holes aren't lined up, top holes aren't lined up. Did they fire their QA team?

Of course it runs Android, what other OS lets you do anything you want to it?

Samsung would hate to be restricted by iOS or Windows Phone as they don't allow you to make any customizations plus also the fact that majority of Samsungs touch wiz features would not be allowed to run on iOS or Windows phone. So i'd say it isn't a shame.

I would totally like this if it had a bigger battery. It's a bigger phone, go ahead and make it slightly thicker and put a 5000mah battery in it. I might have switched from my iphone but not now. Zerolemon batteries were the main selling point for me.

So what are the new features? They removed the SD slot and shrunk the battery size, in turn they added?

RIP SD slot. I'll miss you. Shamesung at it again following Apple's anal love.

Hmmm...so much missed potential. I think it'd be fine to ditch the removable battery if you were to replace it with something like a 4100mah unit, or larger. Phones are getting pretty power efficient and if you need you can carry around a battery bank. I don't know many people that actually swap batteries. Actually, I know 0.

Here's hoping the Note 6 is something better.

What is getting my goat is why all the holes aren't lined up. Just why. Why Samsung. Bottom holes aren't lined up, top holes aren't lined up. Did they fire their QA team?

Haha, it was likely designed that way.

So what are the new features? They removed the SD slot and shrunk the battery size, in turn they added?

A glass back to attract fingerprints and dirt.

Iphone design.. again.

I would say they run Andriod cause it's free.

But its not free software. Google will still charge someone to distribute large copies of its software if you're making money off it, which Samsung is.
