[Mini-News] 14 million devices runs the latest Windows in 24h period since the OS released.

GoodBytes

Microsoft has announced that they are 14 million people who have installed Windows 10 on their system in the first 24h of release.

That's 583,333 installs per hour!

This is possibly a new record for the company for the most installs in 24h period. Windows 8 was installed just 4 million devices over the entire launch weekend.

If you haven't got Windows 10 yet because your system is not ready, Microsoft says to fear not and that they working 24/7, to fix all issues with its partners to get Windows 10 to you as soon as possible. Also, additional waves should unlock.

my laptop has not gotten the update now notification, but my main rig is running win 10 PRO with no issues at all. So i am going to wait until i get the notification from microsoft to upgrade. I have no need to rush into win 10 on it. I already have my main laptop and gaming rig on win 10.

And have issues for you to go on forums and complain. Nice planning!

You think waiting for the update to show up on your PC avoids the problems? Not saying I had any, absolutely zero problems for me and I used the link Microsoft provided to download Windows 10. Other than the Nvidia driver issue where I had to download DDU and restart my PC.

And that number is only going to increase moving forward.

So far ive found it to generally be an improvement over 8, despite a few things initially irritating me.

Amazed at how well the launch has went for so many people. Ive heard very few complaints from friends and family so far.

For number 3, just use Control Panel as always. It is still available and you can uninstall things just as you always have.

I'm still happily waiting before I get Windows 10, especially with the new Service patch coming soon.

I'm in no rush to get it. My system is completely stable and working now for work on 8.1. I look forward to 10, but not enough to deal with the issues people are having left and right at the moment.

The only people I've come across with issues are those that have a potentially borked version of Windows 7/8.1. Their install is already jacked up, so they overwrite those files, probably have duplicate files, and corrupt/conflicting files lying around. So Windows has issues.

If you have a completely clean install, there's no reason you should have any troubles.

To all those people who say "AMD drivers suck" - HA! AMD drivers are working perfectly (for me) on windows 10. It's Nvidia drivers that people seem to be having problems with with the upgrade. My friend can't even do the update with his new 980Ti. He says it simply won't let him and that there's currently no fix for it yet. Anyone else running a 980Ti with windows 10 here? He's also currently running windows 7, not sure if that has anything to do with it...

But yeah, AMD seems to be on their game with windows 10 so far. ;)

There's someone here running 980 Ti's in SLI that got 10 working. Damn if I could remember their name though.
