Hi... I'm about to push the button :D. I'm going to have NCIX build it for me... Does anyone have any last second pieces of advice or tweaks to give me before I spend $2K? :D

Build it yourself is good advice.

 

But it is a good build. Maybe you want to add a 1TB $50 HDD to it?

Looks, decent but can you not build it yourself, save yourself a pretty penny!

Remember, an H97 board cannot support overclocking or SLI. And are you okay without an hdd because that SSD is kinda small

that nf f12 is useless if you put the af fans in it (and overpriced too)

get a 970 or 2 in sli

get a Z97 board

If you're not editing video or overlocking, get an i5-4690 (NON-K). You won't need an i7 unless you're editing video (which takes advantage of HT) and a non-K processor is basically the same thing but with a locked multiplier which makes it non-OCable.

get the 4690, get a bigger ssd. 256 gona fill up very quickly

I will be doing video and photo editing though, sometimes simultaneously playing a game on my other monitor. That's why I thought i7 would be best

If you are get the i7-4790, again a non-K since you're not planning on an overclock.

These parts are too expensive for what they are...You can save a bunch of money.

But would cheaper parts be just as reliable for long term use? The reason I'm not over clocking is because I just want a stable system that I can use as my light gaming and workstation pc for the next 3 years till I finish college. I'd rather pay more up front and have everything last without having any issues or headaches. But if you think that cheaper parts will provide me with the same reliability I would probably do that then.

Please please don't get a corsair RM, instead get the evga g2 750w. It's cheaper and miles better in every way. Corsair power supplies really need to catch up, their pricing does not make sense.

Then you don't need a 'k' cpu

 

You also only need a 500W or so psu.

 

Left the Z97 board in as it matches the card/case. You can get a cheaper H97 board but they don't match colourwise.

Z97, i5-4690, single 970 (you don't need a 980 for CS:GO, that's silly.) Add a 500GB SSD with that money saved, whabam.
