Why do people hate AMD cpu's so much

i don't know the temps on new intel cpu's but i was having my dual core on 95C for over a year, and yes intel runs really hot with stock cooler witch is garbage

anyone that "hates" AMD CPUs is an idiot, and they have no idea what they are talking about. No enthusiast will be able to tell you if a 4770 + or an 8350 is under the hood with the same high end GPU doing ordinary or even most extraordinary tasks. Anyone that says otherwise is a fool.

i had faulty temp sensors on my dual core only 1 core was showing, oh and you know that shit they put under IHS on intel i7, and who is holding the world record for fastest overclock.

Never heard of anyone having a faulty temp sensor on a (recent aka not 5 year old) intel CPU. I have heard of hundreds of cases of faulty AMD temp sensors. Also AMD temp sensors stop working properly below 40C which is horrible for Phase change or LN2 overclocking.

The thermal paste under the intel IHS has been improved. Plus you can delid them for better temps.

We are talking about consumer OCing, not world records. It is much easier to get 4.5GHz+ on an intel CPU for the average user.

I'm more surprised about the Nvidia vs. AMD vitriol. Yes, currently (and for a while now actually) Intel dominates the performance charts and the prices of Intel and AMD products reflect that - no arguments.

But when it comes to video cards, I'm baffled because I genuinely don't remember a point in time (and I've been building computers since the ATI Radeon 9200SE - so about 2003?)  that Nvidia wiped the floor with AMD (or ATI when they were still ATI) the way Intel is doing right now. In fact, right now AMD is doing very well in the video card department - the 290 and 290X better than the 780/780Ti at a similar price-point to the 770.

So yeah I don't really know where the "Nvidia completely destroys AMD" meme comes from because in my lifetime I have not seen Nvidia destroy AMD (or ATI).

if i can trust cpuboss AMD is still the best overclocker

780ti is good, i like nvidia before AMD existed, because ATI was pretty bad IMO. And yes amd is killing nvidia

It's like racism, it's irrational and illogical. Nothing is wrong with AMD even if Intel is better and people who hate AMD are the equivalent of people who hate another race.

It's not fanboyism when Intel clearly just makes more powerful enthusiast processors. APU's and possibly the lower end stuff has it's place but there is no reason to buy a FX series now over an Intel unless you have no money and need to buy like a 8320 on sale like I did for my dad.

If the FX wasn't on sale, a lower end i5 would have done the same job and more.

1. AMD runs hotter and it's damn near REQUIRED to use aftermarket (stock cooler AMD is pretty bad)

2. AMD CPU's are weaker core for core and when it comes to gaming all those fancy 6-cores and 8-cores are wasted money since most games only use 2/3 cores/threads.

3. I see more failures with AMD than with intel

4. Their power usage is higher making you have to go up a notch in your PSU (500 -> 550 for example) most likely increasing cost there as well so in the end AMD is not THAT much cheaper.

On a positive note for AMD though their APU's are great and the amount of cores CAN be used though for things like video editing or 3D modelling.

1. Intels stock coolers are piss poor too... The difference is AMD factory OCs the chips pretty high...

2. Makes a good rendering chip or multitasking I know I've occassionally had multiple games open

3. as previously said Intels are usually in offices it's a big part of intel's marketshare most AMD users are enthusiasts who take a PRE OC'ed chip (in comparison to Intel) and OC it even further beyond >Insert DBZ meme here

4.

it'd take me 22 years to validate an i7 over the 8350 and 24 over the 8320 xD

Just saying but arguments could be made either way

Isn't it obvious,  AMD are spawn of the devil, when your not looking the FX series has sex with your wife and reads you mail, leaves dirty socks on the coffee table and doesn't put the peanut butter away then it takes the brick of the rubbish bin lid so wild dogs spread your garbage all over your front lawn.

Is there any other rational  reason to hate on a CPU?

When I upgraded my system, It cost $820,  I went with an i5 because at the end of the build it was only $20 more than an 8350.  I upgraded the box only so it was new GPU, ram, cpu, mobo, ssd and PSU.
