Since I moved to Michigan, my power stability has for sure been worse.  NY was more reliable, but I was in the country, not in a city.

My power is pretty reliable in WNY, we rarely if ever have outages. I WAS having some issues with dirty power (lights flickering frequently and my ups triggering to tell me the voltage was out of range) but since the solar install which also upgraded the house to a 200A service with a new hookup to the pole (in addition to the solar panels obviously) my power quality is FAR better and more stable

 

but as said, depends on where you live. I know I still use a UPS on my desktop with line filtering and all the bells and whistles, Some states have bigger issues (California comes immediately to mind)

once the contest is over I will be scaling back but I will continue to fold. As the current rate of folding is unsustainable. My beast Will Fold and my all-in-one will fold. My laptops definitely Will not. And 8910 will probably stop to as a friend of mine is buying it from me but With just the Intel graphics card. Because he has a 2060 super he’s going to put in it. But when I told him it was ready all of a sudden he wants to wait a few weeks to make sure he doesn’t lose his job before he spends the money on it. I told him no problem.

In Nashville it’s getting better. They are starting to trim the trees further away from the powerlines so we’re having less issues but like the storms that came through a few weeks ago parts of Nashville had no power for 2 to 3 days

Do you have Spectrum? And if so have you had any issues with it? I haven't had any except when I had them install Gig. But a ton of people are always complaining.

Canada Computers has the 1300VA (900W) pure sine-wave Cyber Power units on sale regularly. Though I'm rather fond of Eaton/PowerWare 9000-series units and we use them in a lot of the LAN closets at work they're a little dear for home use.

Good boy . I had Comcast here but when I got laid off three years ago I switched over to AT&T i’ve only had four outages with AT&T now that I know of. When I had Comcast I had an outage about once a week. AT&T guy was over at the box working on it yesterday when my Internet went out asked him what’s going on and apparently due to coronavirus they’re having to upgrade some of our boxes to a higher speed connection so my area went from a five gig connection to a Ten Gig with the five gig being a fail back/stress relief whatever you wanna call it.  Whenever star link goes live as long as it is reasonably priced I will probably dump AT&T for that. As they will not be offering fiber to the house anytime soon and I am limited to 50 Mb down.

Gave up on the APC BackUPS series as I've had 3 of their 1300-1500VA units and they all had inverter failures within 3 years. Moved over to CyberPower for line-interactive UPSes but haven't had them long enough yet to comment on on their reliability.

 

I have 3 Eaton/PowerWare 750VA units that work was throwing out because they needed some capacitors replaced. I bought them originally for my team's desktops back in 2007 or so as we were all on Emergency Power. Replaced the batteries and two capacitors and the've been back in service for the last year or so.

In regards to the BAD WU error, I'm not running any expert flags.  GPU is a Vega Frontier Edition air cooled 16GB running at stock 1600MHz speed, but undervolted by about 50mv, with increased power budget and very aggressive fan profile.  The stock blower sounds like a Concorde at take off, but the AMD metrics show it's staying under 55C at 1600MHz, 90%+ load, and ~255w card power consumption.  It doesn't hurt that it's in my detached workshop where it's 10C and I can't hear it!   @LFreeman suggested deleting the slot and recreating it.  I did so with default/auto (-1) settings and that seemed to get it working immediately.  It started downloading and processing a WU without errors in a few minutes, and has chewed through a few more since.

I'm losing around 20-30k points on some of my uploads from my 2080 Ti. Servers still that loaded? My CPU ones are almost instantly done though.

Yeah I had several cyber power UPS’s (5-6) of various sizes at Yazoo brewing Company(one of the companies I support) when they were downtown (talking about shitty power) all of them died within three years and replaced Under warranty thank God. But when We moved we bought all new APC units. And they’ve been used twice once because I pulled the plug oops wrong plug. and once because we actually had a power outage.

Same here with my 2080Ti. I think the servers are really that loaded.

I uploaded one that was waaaayyy off on the numbers. Finished uploading at 100k and only gave me 9k
