Not better to the point which you'll feel the difference, you wont be running CPUs that draw enough power to make B450 fall apart. It's the CPU (3600) that makes you feel the difference.

newer chipset.

Also just saw there is a cheaper one, the Asrock B550M-HDV is only €84,50

Ye, i mean if A520 will have better VRM's and a better name.

Everytime i read something about the A320 they said its garbage and just for office work.

The motherboard you picked is Tier E: 75A, if i want a mobo that I can OC i can just pick one from Tier D 100A?

For R5 3600 or 14nm 1600 you dont need to, for 12nm 1600AF you should.

still feels weird there is so much difference between the chipsets,
i understand there are multiple brands trying to sell, but why would 1 company have 7 different B450 boards,
Just 1 budget, 1 normal and 1 deluxe should cover everything no?

Also weird that a A320 board could have better VRM's than a X370 or B450 board while you would expect it be "better".

While I thought a X370 is like X470 and X570 and more suited towards overclocking and having better VRM's, but the A320 still got picked.

there is no MSI B450 PRO-VDH max (TIER D) currently listed anywhere on the web, is the mobo from D tier reffering to the mATX version as there is an MSI B450M PRO-VDH max? also is the asrock b450m pro4-f same quality as the asrock b450m pro4?

Pro VDH only ever came as mATX model on AM4 socket, I cant refer it to any other form factor....

AMD

 

All current draw figures are based on Prime95 small FFT with AVX unless otherwise specified, in other words the worst case scenario. Only often recommended sku of CPUs in the same generation and core/thread count configuration is named, others share the same rating. Zen scales down frequency and voltage according to EDC (current limit) and TDC (thermal limit) settings of the motherboard so in theory you won’t cook the VRM of any board at stock, you just lose frequency.

What's the word on the AsRock B550-Pro4? I need a not terrible motherboard to put a 3600 in at the present and I'm hoping to put an 8 or 12 core in down the road so other cheaper options like the Gigabyte Aorus Elite won't do and options on the list at the moment are either out of my budget at the moment or out of stock.

All I know is that it's 8-phase 50A but I've no clue what that puts it at relative to the other motherboards.

the mATX one is on the weak side (like an X570 UD) but the ATX one is pretty bulky, matching the X570 Elite.

Unless you like gambling with Biostar, Asrock is the way to go for "biggest VRM on the cheap". with the Pro4. That's about the only thing going for it

Cool, thanks. What's so bad about it? It's the only board in my price range that seems to have decent VRMs, 2 M.2 SSD slots and support for a 16x, 8x, and a 1x card (which I use daily) It's why I got the B450m Pro4 but it just crapped itself so a replacement is necessary.
