Elon Musk taking ideas from Star Trek?

Nine Tailed Fox

Star Trek/Star fleet uses triple redundancy for their hardware and the Falcon 9 has three flight computers for redundancy pretty cool I guess

Its just a safeguard. It has nothing to do with Elon Musk or Star Trek. I swear anything and everything this dude does exaggerated and everyone attempts to turn this dude a god or something.

Trippel flight computers have been a thing since the first propper rockets.

Its essentiall for doing errorcorrecting as 2 computers getting 2 different numbers doesnt tell you which is wrong.

In other words, its not special in any way really.

A great many things in our life and society were inspired by Star Trek so it wouldn't be surprising if he's taken a few ideas from them as well, but the explanation above that this has been commonplace forever sounds a lot more relevant here

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

None make the "whoosh" sound which is disappointing...

Hardly surprising... old Musky rarely has an original idea... he simply takes things other people think of and puts them out there for others to try and figure out... then claims credit for 'his idea'.

Redundant computers have been a thing ever since the Apollo 13 disaster. Even though it implemented redundant circuits, it only had a solo computer which too much got damaged. Not sure why you're crediting Elon or Star Trek....
