Did I miss the floatplane version of this?

It seems to be a simultaneous release this time, maybe floatplane was hurting the YouTube views or something

I built this in 30 minutes on the (frankly awful) Amazon Canada website (which, actually has pretty awful prices).

I could undoubtedly get a second hand case and hard drive/SSD cheaper. Leaving more than enough for bargain hunting for monitors and a table/chair.

I genuinely feel I could ace ALL of these Scrapyard Wars challenges with remarkably good kit.

But there we go, that's an R3 2200G, an RX 570 8GB, 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz, overclockable, looking at 1080p ultra 50-60fps on Dirt Rally 2.0, so easily hit 60hz solid on high settings as per challenge.

And that's without even shopping around.

You know, for nerds some of you folk have serious reading comprehension issues.

I quote myself here;

I could undoubtedly get a second hand case and hard drive/SSD cheaper. Leaving more than enough for bargain hunting for monitors and a table/chair.

And the following is spoilers if you haven't seen episode 1;

Spoiler

They managed to get all of the peripherals for next to nothing, or free. So I believe it's fair to presume that I could have too, had I been in the area. If not, the money saved from second hand case and hard drive would leave more than enough for peripherals.

Dirt 2 in this season makes me think about a simulator season. Driving or maybe even flight simulators. Wheels, yokes, or joysticks, and pedals, all in the price.

Tech, engineering, gaming and promoting the metric system. These are my things.

Lover of Linux.

Currently rocking a ThinkPad L13 laptop tricked out with an i7, running Windows 10.

The reason I subscribe to float plane is to watch 2 episode of scrapyard wars when it is release on Youtube (1st episode on Youtube and 2nd on Floatplane). Which work for all previous season.

I understand you guys reserved the right to do what ever, but this is not cool IMO.

Free table/desk & chair, some of the stuff I put in could likely be found cheaper than that on the local used market that could then go towards upgrading some other stuff, such as a bigger SSD.

Checking aliexpress, $90 Canadian for a Ryzen 5 1500X & $103 for a RX 470 4GB, at a local computer refurbisher/recycling center, that have DVD drives for $5 (used to anyway, they also sometimes have cases for $10 so $15 for Case & DVD drive.)
