I have significantly reduced the timeout of the slow component, which should ensure that the forum remains responsive. I will continue to investigate the root cause of the issue though, because it doesn't make sense for it to be as slow as it is.

Recently I've noticed that my replies can take 4-6 seconds to save no matter what device or internet connection I'm using. Even on my home gigabit ethernet it happens. Browsing the forum is totally fine but saving replies takes an annoyingly long time. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks!

I think this is connected with content disappearing from profiles, and should therefore be fixed now. If you're still having issues, please let me know.

I have been experiencing this at latest yesterday on Safari on iPad only.  I never experienced it today though.

Thanks, that helps. The first topic linked there looks like it loaded fine (it spent 0.3s processing on the server), but the second one is an issue. I have a vague idea for what may be causing it, but I will continue to look into that.

Huh, that's weird. The timeouts that we were getting (which meant some requests took just over 10s to submit because they reached the 10s timeout on an internal request) are no longer occurring for anyone, and I thought I had addressed the root cause, but your two requests there took 8-10s each. I'm not quite sure what is causing that (it not timing out means there's a lot less debugging data available), but I have turned on some extra debugging for some slow internal actions to hopefully catch it next time.

 

Please let me know next time you experience slowness, and hopefully I will be able to look into it in more depth then.

I've made another change, which might help matters. I don't have enough data to know for sure what could be causing the slowness though, so I am stuck just experimenting with changing things.
