Did you add a slot for it?

I've been having issues with running F@H client and folding as well on one computer.

I tried DDU-ing everything, tried reinstalling client but still the same symptoms are occurring. Sometimes I cannot even run the F@H client(doesn't matter if I start it normally or as administrator) and even when I succeed in opening it, there are a few things that are not working properly...

1. Expert settings (cannot remove the "open-web-client" flag but can add other flags which end up saved).

2. As soon as I start folding, GPU jumps to normal core clock and the in next 2-3 seconds it drops by 200 on CC and then BSOD every time. I've also tried watching temperature and it is idle-ing around 35-45 °C and as soon as it starts folding it jumps to 60 °C and then the BSOD comes.

GPU is ASUS RX 580 8gb DUAL OC and it doesn't have modded BIOS and no overclock is applied. 1360/2000 is default.

I am using newest driver for GPU: 19.8.1

OS is updated to newest version.

CPU is Intel Celeron G3900@ 2.8GHz(previously used for mining on this motherboard)

Motherboard is: Gigabyte H110-D3A

Using 8GB of some low-end RAM

I haven't had this kind of problem so far. My main computer is running normally with 1080 Ti, so I would like to hear your insights or suggestions on possible fix.

I would suggest that you try to test with some other program, like heaven benchmark. If that also crashes you have problems with your computer / drivers, if it works then the problem lies with F@H

To open the advanced control type 'FAHcontrol'  into your start menu.

Yeah, I know about that tab but I thought there was a log file as that tab saves only the logs from that instance. When you restart the computer, logs reset as well.

However, here is what I managed to get by using Onboard graphics while folding with GPU:

I would suggest that you try to test with some other program, like heaven benchmark. If that also crashes you have problems with your computer / drivers, if it works then the problem lies with F@H

I will try, thanks.

To open the advanced control type 'FAHcontrol'  into your start menu.

Casual flex of almost 2m ppd with only 2 of your GPUs. lol. Don't think I missed it.

How do I setup folding on my machine?

For anyone new to folding these threads are a great resource to get set up and learn some tricks to be able to optimize your setup. (they are also linked in the OP)

Yeah, I know that F@H uses a lot of bandwidth, and it is impossible to fold with adapter. I mounted that motherboard inside an old case and GPU is directly connected to x16 slot.

Already disabled folding on CPU as even on my i7 8700k 4.5GHz it is not of much use.

I am not sure what settings it is, but I will check it, what gen should it be, gen3?

Where exactly can I check the logs? Tried finding them but unsuccessfully.

Also check windows logs to see if it can show you what crashed causing the BSOD. PCIE should be either gen 2 or 3 if your running a 16x connection. But worst case scenario backup your files and reinstall windows.

Good thing I still have everything set up from last year. The only difference is that I have an RX 590 and an 8086K for my desktop and my 2600K and 1050 are now in my server so I should have a lot more folding power. (Yeah, I know my RX 590 is going to be the breadwinner...)

And before anyone says anything, I know an 8086K and an RX 590 is a mismatch - I don't play AAA games - most of what I play is 1080p RPGs that don't rely on graphics. However, I am looking forward to a few upcoming games... >_>

He said he has been really busy the last few days so it might be a bit. He is also working on the tracking info and sheet we are going to use to track stats and info for all of the folders and due to the huge influx of signups I imagine that is a decent amount of work in itself. So just give him some time there is plenty of time before we start the event anyways so don't worry too much.
