Are the Chinese watching us

aezakmi

Don't want this to sound like a conspiracy but could the Chinese government be spying on us? (rest of the countries)

You know Epic Games and the Epic launcher are part of Tencent which is a Chinese company that collaborates with their government. Now how do we know if Tencent watches our game stats (I don't have an account there or any of their games btw), chats if it has a chat feature and outgoing clicks and use that to create a profile of us just like Facebook does via the applet present on most websites, it's said it creates a profile of you even if you don't have an account there.

From time to time news about Chinese hackers stealing data from websites or countries come up, but what are they using that data for?

Every other country especially those at the top spy on each other (even allies) in the name of intelligence data.

And many more...

There is more that meets the eye

Oneplus is a Chinese company, huaiwei is a  chinese company, lenovo is a Chinese company, DJI is a Chinese company.

Tell me, how many of us here own a lenovo laptops, huaiwei/oneplus phone, or a DJI camera drone(who used to sell drones to the US military btw) and worry about chinese government spying?

I will be more worry about Microsoft turning over my datas to the American NSA and CIA to be honest which explains why so many foreign governments are developing their own government computer and staying away from American technology firms.

Damn, he found out.   Rollout and send in unit 2.

i imagine its somewhere around the level of the US or a bit more. so quite a bit

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

Tencent also owns supercell, the creator of clash of clans, and part own both the creators of forenite and pubg. They wholly own and develop the PubG mobile on android and iOS.

Don't forget their shares on Riot Games' LoL, the LoL pirate: Moonton's Mobile Legends, PUBG's 2nd pirate Rules of Survival and what I played before: SmileGate's CrossFire, known online FPS game that has an old engine from the 2000s

Stickers over webcam. Muffle your microphone. Stay away from Windows and use Linux. Use tor browser. Route your entire internet through VPN.

These steps should keep noisy spies from mining your data.

For the paranoid, like in the case of whistle blowers like Snowden, use tailOS, an operating system specifically designed for this purpose. Boot it on a USB stick. After you are done, burned the USB stick and destroy all evidences.

Remember, censorship and surveillance can both be defeated.

Why you want free? You need to buy the most secure, reliable, and privacy proof VPN money can buy.

And are you sure your computer does not run a copy of data mining windows 10?

yeah thing is even if I can afford the VPN I don't have a credit card to pay for it and since most VPNs are from the US or Europe they don't give a fuck about payment methods outside said regions. Yes there's pay pal but besides the ToS I don't agree with it's not like you can simply use cash to fill your account.
