You have enough power to power this system and have the latest drivers and updates. I would try running resource monitor while you are opening a new tab/folder to see what is the cause of this issue: http://www.eightforums.com/performance-maintenance/4602-found-resource-monitor.html
Use HWMonitor to see if anything is overheating in your system and MemTest 86+ to test the ram and run it for several passes to see if your ram is faulty. Another good thing to try is to flip your power supply up so that your fan grill is facing your gpu to see if the power supply is the issue (which I doubt will but worth a try as a final solution). My TX650 V2 kept creating blackouts due to overheating.

Theres no such thing as gaming ram. What do you plan to use this system for? I would just get the cheapest 4GB 1600mhz ram kit: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233334&cm_re=4GB_1600mhz_ddr3-_-20-233-334-_-Product

The NZXT Source 210 is a good choice for a case:http://www.alientech.pt/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=12991
Linus used it in his build guide and its seems to be a pretty good case to build in:

You could convert to whole hard drive to a GPT partition (UEFI) without losing data but not sure if it would work with Windows 8 also: http://sdnalloh.com/converting-win7-from-mbr-to-gpt/
I used this method to convert my Windows 7 to GPT before upgrading to Windows 8. I don't think all your components have to be UEFI because I had a non UEFI 7950 before and it booted fine with UEFI. Having UEFI on the GPU will help make the boot faster. I'll have to check on the CSM also. Thanks for the tip @Assassin.

The Z Launcher was made by the part of Nokia that WASN'T bought by Microsoft. So it isn't a Microsoft product, although it still would have been nice of them to use the Z Launcher for the X2.

As for moving apps to an SD card, I'm sure you'll be able to do this. It's been a feature since like...2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread? Something like that. Either way, we'll find out once people start to get their hands on this phone.

A surge protector could be useful when thunder storms hit. I use APC surge protectors. I also have a surge protector from Monster that covers products up to X amount of money which is a pretty nice thing to have.

Heres a useful link about anti ghosting and key rollover: http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/official-mechanical-keyboard-guide#post_6009418
Key rollover describes how many keys you can click at once and register while ghosting just describes the effects if you try to click 2 keys at once (it registers as a different key than the 2 keys that you clicked)

It will be fine to run it as he won't be overclocking and is not putting the power supply at full load. This overclocked 3570K with the gpu on full load takes 305W which still has headroom for overclocking the gpu. I am pretty sure he will be using less than 305W (less than 60% load) and this power supply apparently meets the 80 PLUS standard (as it suggests on their site but could not find it on the 80 plus website so won't strongly agree on this). If he isn't putting his power supply on the edge by having high loads (ex. overclocking gpu and cpu) on it, he will be able to run it.

Yes it will be enough to power this system at stock. What is your budget and where are you buying your power supply from?

You are able to keep your data if you are upgrading to Windows 8 from 7. In order to keep your data, I think you would have to boot the installation on Windows 7 rather than booting it directly on boot. I upgraded to Windows 8 from 7 and didn't lose data but you may have to reinstall some applications due to the OS switch.

Refer to page 2-15 in the manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-FORMULA/E8336_Maximus_VI_Formula.pdf

The bios will come as a zip file. Just extract it, rename the bios name (ends with .CAP and should be MAXIMUS-VI-FORMULA-ASUS-1504.CAP) to M6F.CAP, copy it to a formatted USB drive, and press the ROG connect button. When the light turns off, your bios should be flashed onto your board.

No in multi GPU setups the memory has to be mirrored so that they can access the same information and work together so if you get two 3GB graphics cards you will still have 3GB.

mgsstar got a reaction from pbenologa in UEFI/LEGACY BIOS Question
Generally it boots faster but I have used Windows 8 on a non UEFI hard drive and I think its boot times are not bad. The main features of UEFI is having Secure boot which protects the bootloader by verifying its integrity before booting to avoid any hidden malware/rootkit to hijack the boot process and hiding itself in the OS and the support of booting off of a more than 2TB drive. You only have to reformat the drive that you will put your OS into. I have two drives: My SSD is GPT while my storage drive is MBR and it works fine with UEFI boot. As you can see its a bit faster but personally I would just save the trouble in converting it since its not that big of a difference unless you want to have a secure OS:

EDIT: I did it because I wanted UEFI before going to Windows 8 and with the method I suggested above I didn't have to lose data so I did it (but backup as it may not work with Windows 8). It still kept the integrity of my programs and files after the conversion.

You could get Office 2003 which includes Access: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Office-2003-Professional-Word-Excel-PowerPoint-Access-Outlook-Academic-/390840508854
    or
Access 2003 using the amazon link in my above post or this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Office-Access-2003-Retail-Upgrade-/351072843453?pt=US_Office_Business_Software&hash=item51bd9276bd
The price range for Access on Ebay vs Amazon is pretty big but the seller on Ebay seems pretty trusted from user reviews. Can't guarantee that you will get a working copy though.
