replace the thermal paste is when you sell a rise in temps. some people never replace their thermal paste, some others replace it every 6 months.

This is now the official built it method for screenshots and is confusingly called Snip & Sketch.

It'll open a nice interface that allow for multiple screenshot types, I use it all the time for pasting screenshots here as it adds them right to your clipboard or you can annotate them and hit copy and paste here.

The old "snipping tool' is deprecated and honestly Microsoft should remove it to avoid confusion.

I actually just did this as well to enable it on my wifes as I hadn't yet for her when I eventually update her to Windows 11 🙂 Gave me the purpose to do so!

I had a pair of Gigabyte GTX 660s. The fans on them were crap. Always had trouble with them. Might be an extension of the same issue, since these are from around the same time.

As @HairlessMonkeyBoy says, they really only good to tweak about and as test bench card, or video output. I guess you could try to run voluntary compute task on them like with our F@H team.

ZMF Aeolus has great bass and good treble without any hint of fatigue cheap shit will get you without careful component synergy. As for amplification, I would always recommend something instead of using the crap that comes with PC motherboards, even for gear that has low impedance and high sensitivity. The Echo from Feliks Audio is a very good start. I'd also recommend the Schiit Bifrost 2 to be used as source as I like mine quite a lot, but that would go beyond your budget by a bit.

I used to install that stuff, between that and playing with orchestras for quite a few years, my tinnitus constantly reminds me of my past. As mentioned previously, watch your ears.

I think you have the same problem I did back in the day when I was running a big stereo.  You have no trunk left in your car, hope it sounds good.  I miss the loud stereo but wouldn't want another one.

Mine was a 2001 VW GTI with a pair of 10's and a 1200W amp.  Had a second amp at 75Wx4 for the mids/highs.

In all seriousness though I hate to be the old fart in the room but watch your hearing, I have a several DB permanent loss in the mid/low frequencies and persistent Tinnitus that's in the 6.4KHZ range.  Pretty much attribute it to the stereo, I ran it hard and loud anytime I drove the thing.

Right, What I was thinking. Bestbuy.com has em for $329.99
But six core is cool n all. Coming from a four core 3200G, 1600G performed a bit better, but overall just made me hungry for a 8c processor. I fully understand I probably could get away with a 3600. But I feel like I'd be shooting myself in the foot.

Hey everyone, I have an old system that I use for some light gaming and entertainment. The graphics card has recently given up and looking to find a used one to replace it with.

I know cpu's need to match the socket of the motherboard to even work but wondering if gpu's are that strict as well? How modern can I go? A somewhat modern one would be good to use when I'm finally ready to move on from this system.

Nvidia 9600GT [Stopped working, need to replace] The FPS wasn't great with this card in the games I was playing but it was playable. So just a moderate upgrade over that would be really enjoyable.

Thank you everyone, have a great holiday season!

Nope, its not a joke, some genius/nut job modder has created a custom chip for the Super Nintendo to support ray tracing.

Bubbles2.mp4 Using some pretty damn impressive electrical engineering and an FPGA they were able to create a custom chip they call the SuperRT to handle ray tracing with up to 4 rays per screen pixel. I should add, I'll summarise the post here but the link to the source goes into WAAAAAAY more detail. If you interested in the full explanation then please go have a read through it.

I'm genuinely amazed at what some people do in their spare time. While GPUs are becoming more powerful every year to cope with new features like RT someone decide to build it into a 30 year old console.

the vrms on the b450 strix-f are terrible, while the ones on the b550 strix-f are excellent. because of this, you won't be able to overclock on this particular b450 board.
ryzen 5000 support only comes from a beta bios on the b450 boards. not sure whether that has been released yet, and even then, you'll need an older 2000 or 3000 series cpu to update bios on it, as that board doesn't support bios flashback.

overall, i would not recommend at all the b450 strix-f.
the b550 strix-f is excellent, but there are other cheaper alternatives that work very well if you're not stuck to the rog strix design

GroundbreakingCrew9 reacted to Spotty in Do you guys reinstall your pc after replacing GPU after some time?
Not necessary. If you're concerned about driver conflicts between the different hardware run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the old drivers, though going from a 1080ti to 3080 shouldn't be an issue.
