Snipping tool stopped working after windows 11 update!

When I press Prt Sc, I have the "new" tool (Snip&Sketch) that was introduced a while ago to Win10. Works fine 🙂
Can you elaborate on "stopped working"?

A problem with Windows is preventing Screen Snipping from opening. Refreshing your PC might help fix it.

is that when you click on the link? e.g. after typing it in search? What happens if you press the Print Screen key on your keyboard?

On Windows 10, Snipping Tool has had this warning for quite a while now (as in, for years now):

Seems like that 'future update' they were talking about may have been Windows 11 (or one of its updates).

My go-to for screenshots has been Snip and Sketch for a while now, which can be accessed using Windows+Shift+S, or can be rebound to PrintScreen via Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard > "Use PrtScn button to open screen snipping" (all the way at the bottom). It can be used to select a portion of a your screen(s), an entire screen or only a certain program.

Win + Shift + S

This is now the official built it method for screenshots and is confusingly called Snip & Sketch.

It'll open a nice interface that allow for multiple screenshot types, I use it all the time for pasting screenshots here as it adds them right to your clipboard or you can annotate them and hit copy and paste here.

The old "snipping tool' is deprecated and honestly Microsoft should remove it to avoid confusion.

Run windows update.

But also seriously consider using the Snip and Sketch tool.
