But mining bad!

there's been a bit of discussion on the folding board, and I think it's time for a mining community board pinned in the folding, boinc and mining sub like the boinc and folding boards are. mining is getting more popular and it would be really nice to have a board for it specifically, especially as not everything requires a topic made, and a status update isn't always the right thing to use either. I don't see a reason why not to. it could also be a good time to clean up the pins there, as I think some of them could be merged together

But why? The current system of "put your actual location if you want, perhaps in a jokey way, or put something else if you don't" seems to be working fine as far as I can tell - the main place that people's locations matter is in New Builds and Planning, and the template there already asks for location.

Was considering requesting a "Mining Community Board", as this is obviously missing. I think it's time that we request one.

You keep your existing points, they just don't count for the team.  Future points count for both you and the team. 🙂

Could we have a sticky thread at the top of the Tech News forum where people can post smaller, less significant tech news which doesn't necessarily justify a complete thread? Kinda like the "QuickBits" of the LTT forums.
 
For example, I noticed a news article about Facebook banning a French village called Ville de Bitche from their platform because the algorithm confused it with the word "bitch" used as an insult. That really isn't worth an entire thread but would probably be a decent thing as a post in an existing thread.
 
It would have the helpful side effect of giving a thread to put all of those posts the forums gets which don't meet the proper tech news posting guidelines but are still tech news.

I am building my first PC with a budget of $1500USD and need some help with getting the price down, i'm not sure which part I need to downgrade but I have attached my list for your reference :) I am also not 100% sure if everything is compatible so if you have have any suggestions for what I could change to make this build worth my money that would be awesome!

If you want to know about the store stuff, send them email.
There's no thread due to the fact that there's no person in LMG who would reply there. All information I, for example, get is from WAN Shows. There are timestamps. If it's not discussed in general, it might be with super-chats.
 
If LMG feels like they need thread for the store, they can make one. But as you can see from the reply by Linus IN THIS THREAD, they prefer that you contact store support directly.

Perhaps, but idk. I feel like the yt comments, tweets and the occasional thread give a good idea for what the audience wants. Perhaps the team could use polls here for what to do next

Summary
Yahoo Answers will be shutting down on May 4th, 2021 at EST. Prior to this, on April 20th, the site will be put in read-only mode. 
After May 4th, users will be redirected to the Yahoo home page. Users have until June 30, 2021 to download their content. Try to get it started by the beginning of June though, as it can take up to 30 days for the data to be ready. 
 
Yahoo stated that if there is any feedback or comments about this, an email can be sent to yahoo_answers_sunset@verizonmedia.com. The shutdown will not have any impact on other services.
 
My thoughts
May the 4th be with you, but not everyone will be with us. Yahoo Answers, which is often great for both serious questions and for becoming a meme, will be leaving us. Frankly, I am puzzled by this. I would think Yahoo Answers is their biggest market, even after they were acquired by Verizon a few years back. I hope someone makes a backup, as the site is a big part of internet history. Rest in peace, old friend.

As stupid as many yahoo answers questions are, it's still disappointing seeing that service disappearing.
