there's been a bit of discussion on the folding board, and I think it's time for a mining community board pinned in the folding, boinc and mining sub like the boinc and folding boards are. mining is getting more popular and it would be really nice to have a board for it specifically, especially as not everything requires a topic made, and a status update isn't always the right thing to use either. I don't see a reason why not to. it could also be a good time to clean up the pins there, as I think some of them could be merged together

I agree this would be cool to see mining get it's own category, there has been lots of mining related content on the forum lately and it would make sense for it be removed from boinc and F@H.

I'm tad confused on what you want more. Dedicated pinned thread for general discussion about mining? Or subforum separation? The latter would mean that amount of new and active threads for both sides is notable.

Is there a thread already? Easiest way for us to pin anything is that there's already a thread which is active with buzz. Also if you talk about merging or removing existing pins, please do include reasons and suggestions of those too.

I was tired when I made the post lol. but a pinned thread, would be new as I haven't seen an active thread with that as the topic. as for pins, I just threw it in cuz 2am me thought I should. it's not important for now. 

I can make a thread and do all that jazz if needed to sort of get the ball rolling I guess.

perhaps make a sort of folding/boinc master thread for information, combining all existing threads in one post, or several depending. that way it's only a couple of pins

Pinned topics for Boinc and F@H are more relevant as they pertain to information for those who wish to participate on the LTT Folding and BOINC teams.

As far as I know the same thing does not exist for Mining, there are no teams for Mining and I highly doubt the community is going to mine pool to a single wallet.

It would be handy for some of use noobs to mining to have somewhere to talk to each other here. I'm not evil, I'm not taking hardware from anyone. I just used spares I had around to make some extra money that I could use right now and try to build money for later when I need to replace my car or need medical care.

that's what I'm thinking if mining was separated from boinc and F@H it would be used as a place for beginner miners to get help, various cash out methods, trending coins to mine etc.

I'm still for this, I'd rather ask here why my Vega56 is only doing 40mhs with teamredminer and Nicehash than join Reddit the cesspool of the internet.

There's already a subforum for folding@home, BOINC, and cryptocurrency mining which would be a suitable place to post asking for help with such a problem.

Is there any reason why you wouldn't create a new topic to get help with your specific issue?
