Yeah I just compared the prices
Its 150 bucks for a Galahad 2 Trinity and 530 bucks for a loop kit lol
Thought that it could be nice to have a loop but its still really expensive
There are part from aliexpress from a well known Chinese company and its was cheaper, what about that?
The intension of the loop is to push the 10900k to 5.2GHz. The silicon is good enough but my current aio is not plus when I do decide to upgrade my cpu the loop will still be usable, Ill just need to get a new cpu block

Not even close to worth it.

Get a 360mm and case like said above if you want best cooling reasonably.

Doing a custom loop for less than the absolute best parts is just for fun, IMO.

Not worth it imo, only advantage is a stronger pump and more water to slow coolant heatup...
Plus you'll have to buy everything except fans, you won't be able to reuse the block nor cables nor the rad
Getting a new case + 360 may be cheaper and will be more efficient

Material is solid on Pro similar like Zowie one. G502 has rubber but it kinda becomes meh and shape is more important. I have sweaty hands as well. Also if needed you can always put extra grips on any mouse.

I hope you are successful in your dis/reassembly.

Do not drain the battery below 25% and especially do not charge above 80 or 85% at the most.  Even more importantly is do not allow the battery to be charged above 85-90% overnight.  Keeping a Lithiun-ion battery at high charge (95-100%) and leaving it plugged in for hours at a time, is trickle charging it at high voltage, which severely reduces capacity per charge over time, much more degrading than staying below 85% or so.

Similarly, 0% is also not a good idea, because of depth-of-discharge.  If you go from 85% all the way down to 0%, you will put more wear on the charging process vs staying above 15%.

At 85% to 15%, while still I fairly high depth-of-discharge, will allow a much higher per-charge capacity over thousands of more charging cycles.

A website called battery university has some great charts explaining capacity combined with estimated charge cycles.

The B760 Gaming X. It's the only board in this list with a VRM I'd trust to not blow up or severely power throttle with a 13600K under sustained load.

So even with a mobile 4090 you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference between it and an i5 for gaming.

Code compilation yeah they'll be faster. The hx is the faster one HOWEVER.

THIS IS ONLY IN EXTREMELY WELL COOLED LAPTOPS. This counts for both of them the hx a lot more.

What laptop are you looking at that has these? As there are for some reason thin and lights that have these that can barely even run em at base clock.

    I upgraded my 10600k to a 10900k about 5 months ago
Wanted a better cpu and wanted to "Future Proof" my cpu and just get the best cpu for my platform
Got it new for really cheap
I got lucky and got a chip with a really good silicon - it can do 5.2GHz on all cores, maybe even 5.3GHz
I run it daily on 5.1GHz on all cores and there is a difference between my old 4.9GHz 10600k and current 5.1GHz 10900k
Just get the best cpu of the platform
Your board is pretty good, wont be any problems (for the most part)
    10700k or 10900k
avoid 11th gen, its a waste of silicon since an overclocked 10700k can pretty much match the performance of a 11700k and 11900k

Intel's X series are really bad for gaming
Your board supports only 10th and 11th gen BUT, since its a B460 board, you wont be able to overclock "K" (unlocked) cpus
The "K" variant comes with higher frequencies
The "F" variant just means the cpu comes without an iGPU (integrated graphics) so, for example, if your gpu dies, you wont be able to plug your monitor to the motherboard for basic signal because your cpu doesn't have an iGPU
"KF" just means unlocked and without an iGPU
Cpus without an iGPU are cheaper
Personally, I always go for the unlocked variant since I always overclock my hardware and a backup iGPU is always nice to have
Either way, any i9 10th gen will be fine for the next couple of years

HardStroke reacted to PDifolco in Intel i7 13700k vs Ryzen 7800x3d new builing
There's a good part of speculation, but :
    - 7800X3D will perform in games similarly to a 7950X (give or take a couple frames)  so say max 10% over a 13700K
    - But outside of gaming 7800X3D will be 8P cores to 8P+8E cores; let's consider PCores are equivalent, E cores worth 70% of Pcores, then 13700k will be 70% more powerful
    - 7800X3D will be $450 to $400 for a 13700k
Not even counting that 13700k will have OC room and can have faster RAM, seems 13700k wins easily on perf/price, but will be a tad behind in gaming ...

What cpu do you have? psu?
If you don't mind buying used(and prices in tour country are good, look for a 2080Ti / 3070 / 3080 (if you have a decent psu)
You can go for a 2080 / 2080S if you don't want to spend a lot

The 3070 is just as fast as the 2080 Ti, faster in games demanding RT, but lacks VRAM, 8GB is now becoming not enough at 1440p.

This poor little motherboard is not built to hold a fully clocked 9700k
Its not enough to hold it
    83c is really high for a 9700k
The board can't supply enough power for the chip so it just stays at 3.6GHz
It doesn't have the capabilities to give it that extra power for that turbo 4.6GHz clock
If I was in your place I'd repurpose that motherboard as a cutting board and get a used z390/z390 motherboard to let that chip really "breathe"
Good thing you didn't get a 9900k with that board...

I guess you have a 13th gen cpu (from an old thread of yours)
The difference will be very noticeable
    So yeah, its worth it

HardStroke got a reaction from Neutraliz in I oscillate between 8700k , 6800k or 7820x
    100%
The only cpu that's better then the 8700K is the 9900K
The 9700K is an absolute failure in my opinion (even loses to a 10600K in games because it lacks HT)
Giving the fact that they are 2 years old (8700K) or a year old (9900k) there is absolutely no reason to upgrade to 10th gen
10th gen was really nice and we finally got a really strong and solid i5 line
So, upgrading a 1 or 2 years old cpus to a 10700K is really a waste of money (when you can OC them and gen 10th gen performance 8700K=10600K, 9900K=10700K)
I'm not even mentioning the waste of silicon called "11th gen" (you can wipe your floor with that "pcie 4.0" support)
So we are left with 12th gen and 13th gen as the best option
Now that it is 5 years old you can justify upgrading it if you're running a high-end Lovelace gpu or if you need a soild workstation
12th gen is nice but 13th gen is just INSANE.
Pair the 13700K with a solid z690 mb, a solid aio, and a tight kit like a 3600MHZ CL14 (or 4000MHZ CL14) and you got an insane machine (cpu power)
DDR5 is really expensive as well as 700 boards (in my country at least) so there is no other option lol
Giving the performance that 13th gen has, I still see absolutely no reason to upgrade my 10900K (that I just upgraded from my 10600K to future proof the pc)

    Absolutly agree.
To me, its true successor is the actual 13th gen. 12th gen wasn't bad too tho.
10 series was great for value, especially the 10400. But not really worth an upgrade from coffee lake.
But I think owners of 8700k just barely got a serious upgrade path here, in my opinion. Otherwhise, they were and they're still pretty fine.

HardStroke got a reaction from Neutraliz in I oscillate between 8700k , 6800k or 7820x
Yeah, well, its not a fair comparison lol there is a 5 year difference between them haha
Of course it blows it out of the water 🙂
The 10600K also beats it but it is 2 gens ahead
The 8700K was the second best cpu of intel's long-going lga1151 cpus
Still a solid gaming cpu (especially when overclocked)
    But
You can find people selling some comet lake cpu+mb bundles so the 8700K seems kinda pointless nowadays (unless you buy it in a full system)
