Oo la la. Those subs look excellent.

What freq are they tuned to? 5kW for 132dB @ 50hz seems inefficient to me.

For reference, my two powered subs are 4kW each, and per pair I've measured 151 dB before at 40Hz.

For power, I assume you're running from 3 phase? If so, please be extremely careful about the possibility of getting 415V (Or 208V if you live in a country with 120V power) across any signal cable you might have, assuming each sub is on its own phase.

I've considered getting around to upgrading my power again. I've currently got 32A/230V 3 phase for my listening room, but my dedicated power run from the grid for audio is capable of 125A/230V 3 phase, so I'd just have to swap out RCBO's and then the power runs. It's tempting to do.

I install Biamp products for commercial clients... depending on how deep your pockets are, a configurable DSP like that could be the way to go.

Hook each computer up with a EX-UBT (up to 8 channels), use a TC-5 to connect them all to a TesiraFORTÉ AI. It has 8 mic/line analog outputs to the speaker/amp system of choice. Controllable with free software on a PC, or physical control devices are available from Biamp themselves and 3rd parties. I would be willing to help with config/programming these products, but again, they are expensive.

Another digital alternative might be something with Dante. Buy a virtual soundcard license and then get some Dante enabled speakers. They just go on your local network. I don't think anyone has a physical control device on the market yet, so you'd have to load presets from a computer to switch routing around.

LTT, if you're doing a cable shootout check out Blue Jeans Cable.
They're a small US company. Relative to the common stuff, their cables are expensive, but of terrific quality.
They cater to the no-nonsense audiophile and videophile crowd, and also pro AV.
No esoteric snake-oil BS. Just good materials and workmanship. They use Belden and Canare for data and audio, respectively.
(I've been making my own audio cables with Canare cable for over 25 years. It's good sh!t.)

Their HDMI cables are assembled in China but are made with Belden cable and are certified.
All the specs and other details are on their website.

FTR I'm completely unaffiliated with the company but I'm a fan.

I also highly recommend you check out their Monster Cable Correspondence pages.
A while back they were named in a frivolous suit by Monster Cable [a pox on their name!]. Blue Jean Cable's response was epic.
I've read the whole thing like four times in the last 10 years for the sheer pleasure of it.

Audio Matrix is the item your looking for.
    1 of these
    3 of these
then you probably want to get active speakers with XLR inputs. 4 of these is a good choice
Way it works is simple. Outputs from the computers using the Jack to RCA cable go into the input 2 3 and 4 of the matrix.
Then the outputs of the matrix go to a individual speaker.

Then just select the zone buttons set your levels and your done.

Would be kinda impressive if this is a child for which such locks are meant for, but if this is like a high school guy, like 15 say for example, then such locks arnt likely to work better than actually talking to the kid. Though telling him who he can and cant talk to isnt likely to go down very well.

In the end the best parental control ..is 'real' parental control. Actual parenting, not relying on software.

Yeah.... I don't know, I wouldn't be comfortable knowing that every inch of my house is being watched by cameras. Even if nothing is logged the cameras are there and the images can be accessed. That basically means there is no privacy from Linus in the house. (He would be able to get access to the camera feed any time he wants to) while his kids might not mind that now, I am not sure what they'll think about that once they turn teenagers...
I get why this feels so cool and exciting, but this can be abused so badly. This is one of the things that I feel are the wrong way to go with technology. I would've taken the cellphone route simply because this would make it possible to opt-out of it anytime I don't want to be tracked.

But that processor only has 2 sub channels. It can't do 3 subs. And subwoofers inside a sofa? That's far from optimal placement I'd think. You might be better off with bass shakers in that case.
I think you need to redefine your meaning of overkill speakers.  I'm sure they're decent, but overkill they are not.
Yet you pair cheap budget speakers with a top shelf audio processor that literally costs 10 times as much. Balanced outputs it the least of concern here.

None of the following should be construed as legal advice. The following is provided for informational purposes only.

A prima facie case of copyright infringement is established if a third party violates one of the exclusive rights of a copyright holder. These rights include reproduction (copying), distribution, creation of derivative works, and public display/performance. 17 U.S.C. § 106.

Youtube's license allows you to view content on the site but not download it. If you download (copy) it, you violate their license, which violates the rights of the copyright holder, who gave Youtube permission to display the work on their platform subject to that license. This establishes copyright infringement. Fair use is a defense to copyright infringement, but none of its factors will apply favorably to wholesale copying of a work for the purposes of personal consumption. 17 U.S.C. § 107.

Copyright infringement is not criminal unless it is committed "willfully" (intentionally, without genuine belief by the infringer that they had permission or another legal justification for doing so), and one of the following applies:
it was committed commercially or for financial gain more than $1000 worth of works were reproduced or distributed within a 180 day period (reading this cynically, it's not criminal to pirate 2000 iTunes songs per year, as long as they're evenly spaced in time) a pre-release commercial work was spoiled before its release date 17 U.S.C. § 506. Technically Youtube or a rights holder can sue you for downloading Youtube videos, but they basically never do because it's not worth their time. You're generally not a criminal for downloading Youtube videos unless one of the §506 conditions applies.
This is only one factor of the fair use defense in the United States. Although a low quality recording is unlikely to spoil the copyright holder's market, this is still almost definitely copyright infringement because it would fail the other factors of Fair Use entirely.

A remix is a derivative work. Creation of a derivative work is one of the exclusive rights of a copyright holder, and thus establishes a prima facie case of copyright infringement if done by anyone other than the rights holder or a licensee.

However, Fair Use may protect the creator of a derivative work. 17 U.S.C. § 107 specifies that a party has not committed copyright infringement if their use constitutes fair use. Fair Use is determined on a case-by-case basis by the courts, applying four factors, which are "not intended to be exhaustive … or to single out any particular use as presumptively a ‘fair’ use. The drafters … structured the provision as an affirmative defense requiring a case-by-case analysis.” Harper & Row, Publrs. v. Nation Enters., 471 U.S. 539, 561 (1985). No single factor can determine fair use; a court will decide fair use based on their impression of all of the factors:
The purpose or nature of the use If a work was reproduced for research, news reporting, criticism, teaching, etc. the courts tend to look favorably upon that. If the purpose of the infringement is commercial, courts tend to look less favorably upon that. Courts tend to weigh heavily in favor of fair use if the derivative work is transformative, i.e. it “adds something new, with a further purpose or different character, altering the [original work] with new expression, meaning, or message” Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, Inc., 510 U.S. 569, 579 (1994). The nature of the original work The portion of the original work used by the derivative work, relative to the original work as a whole The effect of the derivative work on the market of the original work The test is usually not whether the derivative work will harm the market for the original (if this were the case then criticism would fail this factor), but rather whether consumers would be likely to use the derivative work as a substitute for the original. Remixes are a gray area, but I would say they are generally not fair use. The purpose of the remix is generally commercial. A remix may be transformative, but remixes generally are not extremely transformative, as they do not alter the meaning or message of a song (a remix that changes the message of a song may be a parody, which is much more likely to succeed at a fair use defense). The original work is a song, which is usually heavily protected by copyright. The remix generally uses the entirety of a song, or its most important parts (the "heart" of the original). Finally, a remix may displace sales of the original if the two versions of the song are similar enough. Overall, most remixes are unlikely to survive a Fair Use analysis.

Generally commercial remixes are done with a license from the copyright owner. Many electronic music artists allow remixes of their work or act in ways that create implied licenses of remixes. If a license exists, then a copyright holder has transferred their rights to the person creating the remix, and the remix is no longer copyright infringement.
<I had a bit too much of a knee-jerk reaction to the word "parody" in my first version of this response. Edited a bit.>

He doesn't have to get a license for creating parodies. Parodies generally survive fair use. See generally Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, Inc., 510 U.S. 569, 579 (1994). If he changes the expression, meaning, and message of the songs (transformative), tends to not sample the originals and writes significant sections of new music (portion used), and the new work is not used as a substitute for the original work, it is likely fair use.

He gets a license because he doesn't want to offend any of the original artists and doesn't want to deal with legal issues, even if he would normally prevail in court. For a commercially successful artist it's generally easier and cheaper to get a license than worry about the possibility of lawsuits, even meritless ones.

That said, many of Weird Al's works are closer to covers or satire than parody. Generally a Fair Use eligible parody must provide commentary on the piece that it imitates.
A license to create a single copy is unlikely to be construed in court as a license to freely create derivative works.
The case applies existing fair use analysis, and was a district court holding that does not qualify as binding authority in any US courts.

I've heard some EVE Audio products that my friends have owned. I haven't actually owned any EVE Audio stuff, mostly due to my Fiancee being named Eve and having a half joking ban on EVE Audio products in our home!

    Anyway.

I like EVE Audio stuff. Nearly as much as I like Adam Audio stuff.

I've heard some Kali stuff, in particular the Kali LP-8, which is used as a pair of control room monitors at my place of work. I quite like them and they do remind me of quite high end monitors just with slightly less clarity.

Obviously, I've heard alot of ADAM Audio stuff, and owned alot of their stuff. They're my favourite monitors outside of the JBL M2. They measure well, look pretty good, have plenty of SPL, fairly low distortion and nice features. The tweeters also sound amazing.

Out of the 3 products mentioned here, I would most likely choose the EVE Audio SC205. They're kind of a mix between the Kali's and Adam's. Have DSP, AMT tweeters, both XLR and RCA inputs and decent maximum SPL for desk usage.

So Linus just disclosed that he invested $225,000.00 in Framework. He then goes on to say if all goes well, you can sell these private shares once they go public "for way more than you paid" (He's talking millions upon millions if they blow up).

He then goes on to discuss whether or not he will recuse himself from journalistic laptop content, since there are obvious ethical conflict of interest issues.

One would assume that he would follow that up with an obvious "In light of this, LMG will cease reviewing notebooks since I have a significant financial interest in a competitor succeeding". But no, instead he says...:

Yeah, no. You need to butt out. You absolutely cannot be trusted any longer for unbiased laptop content. You have a significant motive to say negative things about other manufacturers in hopes that it may drive traffic to the company that you stand to make millions off of. Even if you honestly believe you can remain unbiased and ethical, it doesn't matter. We have no way to verify your claims and you have a responsibility just like every other outlet to avoid ethics violations.

    Please take your own advice...

No, it isn't! It's not just you that needs to remove yourself from editorial laptop content, it's your entire company. You own LMG, you being on camera is NOT the issue here. Your company cannot in good faith create journalistic laptop content when you, THE OWNER, stand to make millions off of a competitor.

Linus, you love to rail on every company under the sun not being pro consumer, screwing the little guy, etc etc. Don't be an absolute hypocrite and put your money where your mouth is. Be pro consumer and keep yourself ethical. Otherwise all of your other thoughts and statements on other companies doing wrong mean absolutely nothing.

Also, while I'm at it... Intentionally spending only 15 seconds out of a 15 minute video to actually disclose your financial involvement in this company is questionable.

This is a big loss for basically everyone in the entire world, except Apple. It's really sad to see.
For a company that prides itself (and their fans praise) for having such a great ecosystem with a superb app store, they sure seem very afraid of having to compete.

Then why are you forcing everyone to use it? If it's the best then surely people would use it over other stores even if they were given the choice, right?

Then why does Apple have to force everyone to use it? Why are they so afraid of having to compete with other payment options if they are the best on their own merits?

Apple and their fans are speaking out of both sides of their mouths'. They always talk about how bad the competitors and alternatives are, but at the same time they are very worried that if users were given the choice, they would abandon the already established services they are used to and flock to these "inferior" competitors.
If you have to force your customers to use your products and block competitors, then maybe your service isn't as good as you pretend it is.

Keep in mind that even if it does still "work", that doesn't mean you haven't damaged it.

In an externally polarized condenser microphone, the diaphragm is usually some sort of metalized mylar film, and is quite thin. It is also *very* close to the the other electrode. Suffice it to say, the diaphragm itself (and the electrical attachment points) are quite fragile.

Blasting it with compressed air, be it from a compressor or a can, could potentially be sufficient to tear the diaphragm, or even just enough to permanently deform it. You may not stop the microphone from working, but it could alter the sensitivity, frequency response, linearity or maximum SPL. Not ideal.

Generally speaking, microphones are a relatively sensitive instrument and should be treated as such. Would you spray compressed air onto a $3,000 precision pressure sensor that was just calibrated? Didn't think so. Granted, this isn't a particularly expensive microphone the OP has, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to abuse it.
