Whatever is cheapest. Brand only matters in that it determines who's RMA department you'll deal with, and most of them are about equally mediocre. The differences are card vs. card, and with cards like a 4070S, the difference between one card and another is minimal at most.

Odds are your issues with the 4070S Dual is more down to bad luck than it is that the card itself was designed wrong. Faulty parts do make it past QC every once in a while.

Middcore reacted to TetraSky in So, not (still) not even a topic about the Short Circuit vid 'Give your Mac a touch screen!' ?
Looking at the comment section... It seems people are mostly mad about the price and him saying "portable screen that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg" when it's over $800 (+89$ for the pen).... And the fact an ipad pro is about the same price, same resolution and doesn't need a computer to connect it to...

What they seems to be ignoring is the fact this is not just a touch screen portable monitor. It's a DRAWING portable screen.
"Designed for creatives, professionals and people who need to perform at their best, anywhere. " - their FAQ.

It's different from a regular touch screen.
It's made to compete with the likes of Wacom... which are even more expensive. Not the iPad.
    https://estore.wacom.com/en-us/wacom-cintiq-pro-17-dth172k0a.html
The closest equivalent display is the Cintiq 17 Pro at $2.5k. 4k, 1.07B colors and 99% DCI-P3 colour space.
Basically the same display specs as the Espresso 17 (they claim 100% DCI-P3 but shortcircuit video says it's closer to 98). Which is less than half the price.

Maria made the comment that it wasn't as accurate as what she is used to. Now there's little to no available specs on the Apple Pen or iPas as far as precision points goes(or any other specs that matter, thanks Apple 🙄)... But the Espresso's pen is around 4000 precision points while the wacom is double that at 8192 . Looking at reviews online, it seems like the ipad pro with an apple pen is close to Wacom on that side of things. Which could explain her thoughts on that matter as far as precision goes.

My only complaint with that video, is that they pretend like it's just for Mac with that title. It is why I hadn't even watched it in the first place because I wasn't interested in a product for Apple computers.
But it also is compatible with Windows. Which they did not mention once in the video.
Had they made this video showcasing it as a drawing tablet on your Windows PC instead of pushing the ridiculous "touchscreen for Mac" narrative, it probably would've worked better.

Overall, bad execution. But it doesn't mean it isn't worth the price for what you get. Especially if you're not deep in the Apple Eco-system and want to add a "creative" display with a touchscreen to your Windows computer for design work. Amateur or semi pro.

So all we have to go on to determine how seriously they took the whole matter is their attitude towards these things in other videos.

My question was rhetorical but my point was that since the company is probably under investagation I would expect them to maybe tone it down a tad.  Since they aren't I guess it shows that the claims weren't taken seriously.

But on the flip, I would like them to produce videos that don't NEED to include some sort of sexual innuendo, that's what she said, or "elbow, know what I mean?" schtick.

In the secret shopper video I just watched, he had to reference the extra 2 inches of foam thickness needed for safeguarding the PC in transit as "2 more inches thick... know what I mean?".

    <removed by staff>

It's non-stop.  I would wager at least 75% of all LTT videos include a 69 comment, she said, know what I mean, or someone off screen yelling something.

One offs are fine, and we all do it, but it's almost like a checkbox they have on the writing for these things.  Sexual Innuendo, check!!!  You know in real life if you have an Uncle or coworker that always did it, you'd be like "Uncle Bob isn't invited to Thanksgiving, right?  Please?".   Or don't invite Tom to lunch again, he's annoying.

I'm old, I guess.  Maybe the young crowd loves it and can't get enough dick and pussy jokes.  Ignore me then.

Middcore reacted to jaslion in Old graphic card Gtx 780
I would avoid a gtx 780 as driver support ended a while ago meaning it has no optimizations for newer games and in some games wont work at all due to not having a new enough driver or work badly.

Loose from that it only has 3gb of vram which is very little these days.

Id opt for an 8gb rx480/580 WAY faster and usually quite cheap.

Also a gtx 780 didnt age gracefully as the last generation hd 7970 caught up to it and started challe ging the 780ti due to consistent driver performance updates.

Id not waste money on a 780 at all

intel's naming scheme is made for the very purpose to confuse you, just so you have no real idea of which product of theirs is in this device you're buying.
