More rad, more better (generally). I would consider the additional 240 as recommended for your additional GPU load.

@Jumper118@lafrente
Just so you know I'm currently working on a script to read all data from the sheets and put it together into a SQL script.
So we could tecnically have a database soon
edit: OHHH my god, I hate your name @vm'N, it took me half an hour fixing my script because your name broke the generated quotes...

Mephi00 got a reaction from Mardax007 in final build check
I'd rather recommend against that, simply becuase upgrading to 4 sticks in the future might harm performance and ryzen 2nd gen isn't perfectly optimised for 4 DIMM operation.
@berberrieswas right, just try to squeez a little itty bit of money out of your budget and get a 2 x 8 kit for 16gig in dual channel

Mephi00 got a reaction from IAcKI in Strange zzz zzz electricity sound
it may be coil wine from the power delivery of your gpu and nothing to worry about, it usually appears with rlatively high end cards.
P.S. please don't use black text, people use the dark mode and I was barely able to read it.

Mephi00 reacted to GoldenLag in Differences between MSI Armor and MSI Gaming X Cards
no you dont. why would you need an engineer from MSI to answer a question you can check yourself.
its got worse cooling, while it doesnt cover the memmory chips the same as the gaming X.
it appears to be using a lower end VRM aswell. i say it seems, because i havent looked into the specific VRM chips used.
considering you will be water cooling, its entirely down to the silicon lottery.

enable from registry in current control system ----< csenabled
some times in windows 10 the setting is disabled by default and you have to re enabled from regedit.
and activate the power setting in your profile
and choose "when pressing power button"---------< "sleep"

Try updating the bios, it might help, if not.... a fresh windows install is always an option...

Mephi00 reacted to WereCatf in Requirements for Virtualization
A virtual GPU doesn't require any special setup, all modern virtualization-environments set one up by default. It's when you want to give a VM access to a real GPU via PCI-E passthrough that you have to jump through a bunch of hoops.

Mephi00 got a reaction from TrainFan475 in Is this a good build?
First of all, that 1000W psu is very much overkill.
Second I'd rather go with a Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X, instead of the i7, just because they aren't really behind in gaming performance, but ahead in anything else. The Ryzen is wayy cheaper too and you can save some buck. if you're going ryzen I'd change that 4 x 8 to 2 x 16 ram kit at about the same speed.

Mephi00 reacted to Sorenson in Need help choosing fans for case
I prefer Corsair’s ML fans over noctua’s. I believe they’re cheaper, their cable isn’t garbage, and they are quieter from my experience.

Mephi00 got a reaction from For Science! in Large modern case suggestions
I really like the looks of the corsair 680X but I think all rads that might fit are a 360 in the front and a 240 at the top...
otherwise I have the raijintek paean and I like it, I guess you can get 2 360 rads with the top panel kit, but the shouldn't be too thick, my ek 60mm blocks the thirs fan for the top, so I can only go 360 and 240/280.

Mephi00 got a reaction from 1988fido in Fps counters pipeline. (when they measure)
I guess you'll need to find an actual engeneer/programmer who is familiar with how the drivers and fps counters work. That's not a lot of people and I think the awnser is wayy more complicated that you might expect.
-
Mephi00 got a reaction from 1988fido in Fps counters pipeline. (when they measure)
I guess to get the most exact reading you should go with the osd reading, because that shows you how many fps you have while using the screen...

Mephi00 got a reaction from CPT_BEEMO in PCI cables aren't enough for a GTX 970
First, I didn‘t even know there are 4 pin pcie power cables.
Second, I feel like you need a new psu, for that just have a look at the psu tier list and get something from tier A or B, doesn‘t have to be that expensive a 500w bronze should be enough

Mephi00 got a reaction from weeblord in RX 580
110-120$ isn‘t an amazing prize for a used 2600 especially now that there‘s basically the 1600 AF a 12nm version of it. A used rx 580 for that prize might be a little difficult unless you buy a cheap model or a mining card, idk if they are still a thing on used markets.
-
Mephi00 got a reaction from The_Geek in Problem with my new build
You shouldn‘t get a video out from the slot in your board, because there is no gpu connected to it, it‘s for the ryzen XXg series because they have a built in igpu. Check your mobos manual to see what the leds indicate

Mephi00 reacted to ImNotThere in Wall PC/ test bench style PC
include screenshots of the model, as the saying goes "no pics no clicks"
Whenever i hear people talking about "open air cases" my first question is always why?
How many times will you ACTUALLY pull the motherboard out to swap it with another?
but if you really do need this, just invest in an actual test bench or an open air case.
if you NEED to d.i.y. long screws with a nut glued/welded in place with washers on top would support the mobo and just include longer screws to make sure the GPU is steady to simulate screwing into brackets on a case.

Mephi00 reacted to Constantin in What is the best case fan and is it worth buying?
The thing though is that they can be use in every situation, radiator, intake case, exhaust case.
I have 2 in a 30$ air cooler push/pull configuration and they behave like its the top end cooler.
I will change all my other case fans also!
