PCI cables aren't enough for a GTX 970

ResolvedSpade

Okay, so I am planning on upgrading my graphics card from an AMD Radeon R7 240 (I know, great graphics card) to a Gigabyte GTX 970, however, because of the PC that I had gotten was pre-built, it only came with a four pin PCI cable, which is perfect for the current graphics card that I am using, however, the 970 requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin pair of PCI cables. However, I'm still trying to get familiar with everything that is in a PC as my knowledge of PCs and PC parts are fairly low at the moment. What I do know is, the video card that I have has only a 4 pin PCI cable without any additional or another cable to compliment it. What I don't know is how it works. The real question I'm asking is: Will I need to change out this PCI cable in order to compliment this graphics card, or am I going to need find a different solution?

First, I didn‘t even know there are 4 pin pcie power cables.

Second, I feel like you need a new psu, for that just have a look at the psu tier list and get something from tier A or B, doesn‘t have to be that expensive a 500w bronze should be enough

PCIe cable connectors are either 6-pin or 6+2-pin or 8-pin. They are never a 4-pin.

4-pin can be the CPU/EPS connector and it can also be 4+4-pin or 8-pin.

What power supply is currently in it?

Right now at the moment, I have a thermaltake smart series 600w. I did some research on the power supply and it varies from list to list, I'm see it's about tier 2-3 with bronze-gold ratings.

I see. Thank you for telling me that. Now that is discovered, we have a new issue, my graphics card itself does not have any actual wiring installed into it. To be specific, I don't see any PCI-E cables that are actually connected to graphics card itself. To be completely honest with you, I don't even see a single PCI-E cable inside of all the wiring I can see, unless it's possible it's on the opposite side of the graphics card, which is highly unlikely. Like said earlier, my graphics card is a AMD Radeon R7 240, I believe this it is integrated as well, so I'm not entirely sure how that will play in the final answer but yeah. I should also say the things I can see from the image above from my rig is the 24 pin motherboard, 4 pin EPS CPU, 8 pin EPS CPU, and that's it.

It appears to be non-modular, meaning all cables are pre-attached semi-permanently. Based on Newegg's page, you should have 2x 8-pin PCIe cables available(they're 6+2, meaning the two pin will hang off to the side as a separate connector).

If there is no extra power cable running to the gpu, it is powered by the pcie slot, which can provide up to 75 Watts
