Problem with my new build

i just bought the parts for my first ever PC , i installed everything correctly when i first booted everything worked but i had 2 red lights in the motherboard one next to the CPU and one next to the RAM , i didn't know what to do so i think i did something stupid , i plugged the same cable that was in the GPU in the CPU slot in the motherboard at the same time after that i tried to boot my system it turned on for less than a second then shutdown and for a second i smelt something burning , i checked everything its all seems fine to me but now nothing turns on expect an orange light on my motherboard.

help me please.

You shouldn‘t get a video out from the slot in your board, because there is no gpu connected to it, it‘s for the ryzen XXg series because they have a built in igpu. Check your mobos manual to see what the leds indicate

Sounds like you fried the motherboard. Not sure why you'd plug anything other than the CPU power cable into it. Live and learn.
