Theoretically possible, but the odds are so low that they are effectively zero. 2x16GB 6000MT/s basically always works on AM5.

Do you mean blue screen? Those are possible in some rare instances, but they're not really that dangerous and usually easy to fix if you run into them (generally it just means you need a BIOS update).

You can't pay me.  You can give me an A2000 or die, but I will never use a 4090 as long as I live.

I recently got a set of Quadro K4200's.  Not only is framesync ACTUALLY IN SYNC, the entire pipeline I have set up desktop wise is running better than with the 1660ti I recently got.  Theres no comparison.  Even if they are Kepler, KEPLER, they are still performing v a s t l y b e t t e r.

I am baffled, confused, angry I didn't think of this before, and due to the fact that all of these are 20 dollars, I'm selling my shitass gaming cards.

Yes, I've written employment contracts and agreements for companies.  Standard wording.

OP is "building a gaming pc just to mess around with". They are deriving joy from it. And 40$ is what? most of a nice meal? If getting this thing up and running and doing whatever it is they want it to do yields more total joy for them than that meal would, they would be silly *not* to do it.
OP does not owe you any explanation for their joy

A 4770k is, like, 40$ on ebay. You're not gonna get much performance improvement, but have at it!

Sure, grind away the rust and then clear coat to reseal it.  Hell, use a clear nail polish.  Works great on cars and it's cheap.

Remember, the 7800x3d is still an 8c chip.  Do you need a 16c+ monster?

Be realistic with your needs and don't give in to hype and epeen.  Money can be allocated to other things.

Yes or even 7800X3D, depending on the workload. I don't think 14900k makes sense, both in price and power usage. I would rather spend more on a GPU.

Sounds like you want to return something you damaged, and at Microcenter you can.  Please make sure they don't Open Box it, let them know it's defective and not just something you don't want (to cover your ass on the scratch). Don't let someone else deal with your damage.

    Give me an hour.

    EDIT at 23 minutes.

I tried RDR2 (Vulkan) and Star Wars Jedi Survivor (DX12). In many combination of settings. I found performance regressed in both games despite testing around different settings. I also found this just about now and I am going try it too.

I dont have any other AAA game installed on my PC sadly.

EDIT at 49 minutes: further testing with jedi survivor. Not a single improvement for me 😞

Dedayog reacted to Shimejii in Upgrade to 5700X3D
Honestly speaking, 5700x3d/5800x3D only makes sense to upgrade IF you are on Ryzen 2000/3000, not ryzen 5000 series cpus. GPU upgrade would do you much better, then if even that wasnt enough then do the CPU upgrade. Its a good bump for most games, but its not the leap as it was for those on the older cpus.

Dedayog got a reaction from Lunar River in Help me choose b/w a samsung s24 ultra & an Iphone 15 pro max
You're thinking way too much into this, my god.  First you overdramaticize the failure of a product, without any information as to how OnePlus handled it (did you even reach out try to fix?).  One unknown product issue does not crash a company.

Now you're vacillating between Samsung or iPhone which are both the cream of the crop for cell phones in 2024, so why wouldn't it be a personal preference?  The differences are minuscule and rest more on the ecosystem than any particular performance metric.

If you like Android, get Samsung.  Apple, iPhone.   They're both incredible phones.

Dedayog reacted to Mark Kaine in It is OK that my company blocks ads?
ok, but the TOS might not be legal in the first place, so why follow it? ads are high security risk,  if those websites want their "ad money" either block visits from people with safe networks, or sue them (since they "obviously" own the website money)

My suggestion would be a more sustainable approach for making money instead (ie merchandise, patreon, other subscriptions, donations...)

i actually do *not* think that every influencer/youtuber should be able to live from Google ads, that's just not healthy or sustainable, the bigger channels,  or in general the ones i watch do not seem to have that issue  - make content that interests people and is self sufficient instead of make content "for the ad money" get lost with this shit honestly, i don't want your ads.

Dedayog got a reaction from starsmine in It is OK that my company blocks ads?
    Completely think the opposite.

If you want content, why should you get it free?  Granted ads are not a direct payment but they do serve a revenue purpose.

You want to watch YouTube, either pay them direct or watch the ads that are paying them.

Without ads you're getting stuff for free, which imo you shouldn't.

Content costs money to get to you.
