Agree 100% with @driftz240.  I have not heard or seen a driver issue that is intermittent like that.  Definitely sounds like a card issue.  I would DDU the driver, pull the card and reseat it, or put it into another PCIe slot and see if the issue persists.

StealthArsenal got a reaction from TheNerdyTimeLord in Does anyone here have a GT Omega Racing Chair?
I can't exactly answer your question as I do not have a GT Omega, but during my research, I read some horror stories with GT Omega with warranty and support.  I ended up with a Vertagear SL 4000 and absolutely love it.  It was between that an the Naxnomic Dominator from Need for Seat.  Just like anything, a seat is personal preference and is very subjective.  Everyone will say get the Herman Miller Aeron or Steelcase Leap.  For me both of those professional office chairs are extremely uncomfortable and I use an Aeron daily at work and hate it.  With that, I thought the AkRacing and GT Omega racing chairs were uncomfortable compared to the two racing series I mentioned above.  Both the AK and GT didn't provide any sort of back support in my humble opinion and felt like you didn't fit into the chairs properly.  Either too big or way too small.  It should be noted that I didn't own an AK or GT, but have done my homework with sitting in a few different models and was able to make an informed decision.

I understand if this doesn't help, but trying to give you some insight.

StealthArsenal got a reaction from UsualEverydayGuy in Is now a good or bad time for buying a new graphics card?
Depends if your current card cannot do what you want.  In other words push your resolution and graphics settings at an acceptable level.  The 1080 would certainly be faster, push 1440P without issue and allow you ultra gameplay.  With that said, not sure if you should wait if you have the money to purchase.  I for one don't see Nvidia releasing Volta anytime soon since Vega doesn't out perform the Pascal cards as originally expected.  With the 1070TI effectively a 1080, I'm not thinking there will be much change in pricing for any of those cards.

Second thing, the difference between the celcius and the EVGA CLC is really minot in terms of temps, seeing as you already have some 120mm fans and value silence I'd go with the S36

Intel was 100-percent caught off guard by threadripper.  The shear fact that the 7960X probably won't come out until next year and the 14/16 core cpus might also be delayed screams they just announced something to one up AMD.  There is also the noise of a 2066-v3 socket just for the TDP that those cpus are going to require.  It's a botched release anyway you look at it.  I am an Intel fan, but I have to hand it to AMD, they are doing good thus far.

I went ahead and tested the 5820k on fresh install and the results were virtually identical to my year old installation.  Very interesting.  I also put together my 7700k system to test and saw the single core and gaming improvements, but it still seemed that the 1800x overclocked hung in there fairly well at 3.9 ghz.  The 7700 was clocked at 4.7 as I couldn't get it stable beyond that due to heat.  Not under water right now.

For argument sakes, my 5820k at its max scored 1260 (fresh install) multi and 172cb single.  The 7700k max scored a 1024cb multi and a 204cb single.  The 1800x max scored 1623cb multi and a 158 single.

One other benchmark of interest was CPU-Z.
    - 5820k - 2002 single/13118 multi
    - 7700k - 2345 single/10393 multi
    - 1800x - 2277 single/19954 multi

When it came to the games (Tomb Raider, Dirt, Shadow or Mordor, BF1 and Metro), all the numbers favored the 7700k and the 1800x and 5820k more or less traded blows.  We are talking the order of 2-5 fps between min/max/average.

I can't say I was expecting to see this after most of the reviews.  I am running the Aorous Gaming 5 board which seems to be the most stable.  I also don't know how other games will play, I just don't have the time to test everything.  Need to make a decision and return one of these builds.  I am kind of thinking of hanging onto the 5820k machine and keeping it as my daily driver as it is now, and using the 7700k for my projector gaming setup at 1080p.  Saves me $200ish and I can always watch and see how Ryzen matures and/or skylake/kaby lake -x launch.

I am going to do some more real world gaming with the 1800x such as BF1 for example.  But what I am seeing in my testing is that the Ryzen is keeping up and surpassing my 5820k in some of the canned benchmarks.  The only thing that comes to mind if this is somehow false is that Ryzen is on a fresh Win 10 install whereas my X99 system has an install that well over a year old.  I can update some games tomorrow when I get them all installed.  I wasn't sure how the Ryzen was going to work out after seeing all the reviews so I do have a Kaby Lake 7700k sitting sealed in its box right now.  I was anticipating I would be certainly building that as my second system for another area of my home.  I am a bit perplexed with what I am seeing so far.

I have a 1080 classy and honestly, on air, it doesnt clock any differently than the FTW.  I am waiting for ek to release the classy waterblock to see how far it can go.  Mine will hit 2100 mhz at +50 to gpu core and +550 to memory in precision.  It throttles back to 2088 at 70% fan speed.  The one nice thing is that the card is quite quiet at that fan speed unlike the acx 2.0.
