GTX 1080 Ti vs RX 5700 XT

viizi78

Hello,

I'm buying a new PC. For CPU i will get Ryzen 5 3600 and for the graphic card I choose RX 5700 XT. But then I discover that for the same money (give of take a few €) I get GTX 1080 Ti. I have Free sync AOC 144hz monitor. What do you guys recomand?

tnx guys :)

I own the 5700XT and current driver state is a joke, it's a disaster. Your PC won't be 100% stable with that card trust me. Performance is great when you don't have issues but I own this card for 3 days and I was forced to reinstall windows twice, drivers 5 times and redownload Black Ops 4 which is 120GB because game was keep freezing. There are also black screens, driver crashes, HDMI signal losts etc. Wait tor AiB models not only you'll get much better thermal and performance with OC but you'll also get better drivers

Yesterday for example everything was working perfectly but once I got back to home today I would get black screen each time I run any video or game at fullscreen and I had to reinstall drivers to make it work again.

If that 1080 Ti is still under warranty, grab it. Else wait for aftermarket 5700 XT.

Agree 100% with @driftz240.  I have not heard or seen a driver issue that is intermittent like that.  Definitely sounds like a card issue.  I would DDU the driver, pull the card and reseat it, or put it into another PCIe slot and see if the issue persists.
