Weak1ings got a reaction from SteveGrabowski0 in i5 4690K vs Xeon e3 1231
I'd vote for the Xeon even if you are gaming as someday, we may use more than 4 threads.
i5 only if your desire to overclock.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Adalawé in How important is CPU when you have an outstanding GPU ?
I'd like to have a friend like yours
Go for it, the Ivy-Bridge will Not limit you at all.
If it does, Overclock too!

Weak1ings got a reaction from Atmos in GTX 970 vs R9 290x @ 1440p
you mean 1/7th as fast
I'd probably recommend the 290X (not personally cause I'm a Nvidia fanboy)
The 970 is better at 1080p but not above.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Voltic in My First PC Build Need some help
All of your links are bad. Just make a PCpartpicker
I think you should put more storage. 6TB minimum in this budget! (HDD+SSD)

Sell it or build a htpc/guest computer.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Tim Drake in GTX 970 FTW+ Or GTX 970 Windforce?
I'd like the Windforce because it keeps the entire GPU cool vs hot spots like on the ASUS and EVGA.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Flurr in Like My Build?
There is far more than cores in choosing a processor. Like Single-threaded perfromance. AMD does not have it and is exceptionally slower in ALL programs especially compared to the i7. The only thing they have is cheapness and better power than a dual-core Intel.
The build is good except that I would rather you go lower on things like the dual HDD Raid? the H100 and so fourth to try to get a Titan X inside. Things like a 500GB SSD. Go for say a 120 GB at 25% the cost and a single 2TB. Just stick to cutting down a bit on stuff and you'll get 980 sli or a Titan X inside that build which will be a far better choice than any 500GB SSD or etc...

Weak1ings got a reaction from Vash_327 in I Need help on connecting my monitor to my card?
First off, that is a VGA cable. an older but still good display cable.
You will need a DVI to VGA adapter. There are a few kinds but I personally like the ones that attach to the back of the card. Your Graphics card may have one included so check there first. If it doesn't, here is one for $2

Weak1ings got a reaction from TheSLSAMG in What is this worth?
Something to note, that $225.00 happened to be a mistake and they have fixed it. Nevertheless, I bought one

Weak1ings got a reaction from RubyRoks in Game Creation Build?
I'd strongly recommend a better CPU as building the world takes a long, long time even on fast hardware.
-
Weak1ings got a reaction from Tedster in Would this all work together?
You should get a mere 256GB SSD and a godly 2-way Titan X SLI...
Then it'd work together.

Weak1ings got a reaction from ubw in CPU Upgrade?
I have 8GB myself, it's just CPU issues (or something else) I can get a good 50FPS without ENB and my CPU is hardly maxed. The issue is that something unknown appears to be a limit. In games like Spliter Cell: Blacklist, I can get 40-50 FPS on Very High and 60 with a little reduction.

170 FOV when I use all 3 monitors (rarely)

Weak1ings got a reaction from costacis21 in 4690K vs E3-1231 V3
The Xeon will serve you best unless you can overclock that i5 to 7 Ghz. (which'd be awesome!)

First off: I don't know about Belgium prices so I let PC part picker adjust the part prices. this is the $600 build but should do well.

If you were to go higher I'd aim for a better CPU like the 4690K or Xeon E3 1231 V3.
Or a better 960 more importantly as the current is a mini-ITX.

Weak1ings got a reaction from lukky211111 in 3.5k Gaming Budget
You need to have More Drive Capacity atleast 4TB to reflect the cost of that build. 1TB HDDs are for $500 PCs. This one costs 7 times that.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Lolzious in Do you write your percent number %50 or 50%?
I believe that 50% is more proper and commonly accepted. doing %50 will likely just confuse people.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Vexzarium in Looking for a good budget gaming build.
Hey, thanks for the compliment!
I like your edit more especially the power supply but I think 1TB HDDs are the minimum for any user, that and for $12 more you can get more 500 Gigs.

It has a GTX 960 and a i5 4430 at $608. It'd be difficult to willingly go lower on anything. You could skimp more on the motherboard but I would say go higher on the PSU, what is selected should be good though.

Weak1ings got a reaction from Doctorfrozo in Will this build work out?
Looks good.
I have a few suggestions though:
Upgrade HDD to a 3TB for about $16
A Xeon E3 1231 V3 will provide double the threads but cannot overclock +$30
More PSU wattage, Seasonic, Corsair, Rosewill, EVGA, and Antec are all great brands to choose. More wattage so you can SLI later down the road. (aim for 700W+ for a comfortable 970 SLI)
