16bit reacted to Lairlair in GPU Upgrade
All the GPUs you listed will get you what you want and more. I agree that a 3060(ti) would get you the most performance, but I wouldn't stretch the budget for it though, because a 1660 super/1070 would be enough for your needs. Most Adobe software are not heavily relying on the GPU, so think of it more as a bonus. In premiere for instance, your GPU will help rendering some effects, and help encoding some codecs. In after effects it's practically the same. Depending on how you use the softwares exactly, you may not even see a difference at all between having no GPU and having an RTX 4090. Your CPU will do most of the heavy lifting in these apps, so in my opinion you'll see a much more significant uplift if you take a cheaper GPU and upgrade your CPU to whatever your motherboard can drive, which seems to be a Ryzen 7 2700X. Maybe look at some tests and benchmarks to see if it's worth it.

I know where to find a psu guys, I'm just too lazy lol. I'll message you later if I gain enough courage to remove the panel

Really though to tell whether it's gonna work or not. I'd try to find out the PSU model either by looking for it in the prebuilt system's specifications or by removing one of your panels to check the PSU's branding on the side like @podkallsaid.

16bit got a reaction from YoMansHigh in Upgrading CPU, Mobo and CPU. Please reccommend a PSU I can Trust!
Double 16gb ram kit? I want to know why! Anyways, I'm stuck with a shitty Thermaltake PSU too, it's sad that whenever I think of upgrades I have to add in the cost of a new PSU. When I'm looking for a new PSU I often use the OuterVision Power Supply Calculator. I input my system's parts and use the "Recommended PSU Wattage" to look for power supplies from the PSU tier list that fit into those wattage and certification recommended values.

The LG one has a better panel type. I'd stick with that

The R7 rocks. Still use it as my main GPU. (I don't play the latest games though, but it runs most things fine at 1080p)
Try and obtain some older office PC (something with like an i3/i5 and 4 gigs of ram, perhaps even a q6600) pop in some extra ram and the R7 and you should be in business.

Yes. The lesson is: Never open up a power supply. And if you do open them, make sure to touch the 240V parts in order to properly dispose of your stupidity.

are you buying from a local retailer? these are not good options.
Especially with that focus at $105, totally not worth it. Here are some other options:

16bit got a reaction from Devid in Need Suggestion
Completely agree, latency and speed are no big deal in Intel rigs. I have to say that you might want to pave the way for a future mobo+cpu upgrade. CPUs with higher cores and threads count are really beneficial when rendering your projects.

16bit reacted to Stockholmes in Need Suggestion
Both are good, I think gtx 1660 is slightly faster. And yes, you would benefit greatly from 16GB ram. You should probably buy a 16GB kit (8+8GB) instead of buying a single 8GB and using 2 different ram sticks in your system, so there won't be any problems. Ram is pretty cheap right now too. Speed doesn't really matter with your CPU I'd say.

Well, this tier list should help deciding your rig's mobo

Yeah you aren't finding a laptop that'll outperform a Ryzen 1600 system for under $700. Maybe sell the desktop?

16bit reacted to FoxJamm in Video editing and gaming laptop
Agreed... I will say if you have a bit more... I know you said you have to pay a bit more for the import but, look up the MSI GL63 on Tiger Direct. Right now they are $749. Nvidia GeForce 1660ti video card. (8GB So don’t expect to RAM preview more than 30 sec.) but at least your Renders will be solid, and you can always upgrade the RAM.

So red pen is the pin that you cab bend back into place, blue pen is a spot that is left blank intentionally

I dont see a broken pin? Or a pin that isnt there but should be? If your referring to missing pin on the bottom right, that isnt meant to be there.
-
16bit got a reaction from Inf3cted_Worm in broken pin on usb 3 connector on motherboard?
I think you can easily fix it by bending the pin back in it's original position. You can do it with an screwdriver.
