Plz make a video about how printers are designed to fail and how ALL of them are garbage and often fail after only a few years of use. Just the fact that manufacturers will brick your printer the moment you attempt to use an aftermarket toner cartridge should be a video in itself. These companies need to be called out and shamed heavily for this disgusting behavior. Just imagine all the plastic waste that comes from printers too.

This isn't 100% correct. While, obviously, shipping costs (unless free or flat rate) will be calculated after knowing the destination address, this doesn't happen at the same stage of the purchase process in all stores. Moreover, the "tax addition" is very country-specific, as in many countries the displayed price already includes all relevant taxes, so such a step doesn't even exist.
So, saying "it's the way every online store does it" is bending the facts a bit. I have shopped in many, many different websites and I've seen it all: places that asks all possible personal information before letting you proceed to the first checkout step, sites that let you see shipping costs to your area directly from the product page, before even adding it to your cart, sites that ask for address and any other cost-relevant information before asking for payment method and data, and sites that do the opposite. So no, there isn't such as thing as "the one procedure" for checkouts.

As a consumer, while I don't feel it "manipulative", I do agree with OP in terms of preference: I tend to prefer those sites that gives you the end amount before asking for payment data, and I prefer sites that allow you to see the total amount as early, and in as few steps as possible. What is "as few as possible" will change depending on circumstances (e.g., having to deal with the absurdities of the US tax system ), and depending on who's handling their store's backend, LMG may not have a way to streamline its checkout process for its worldwide audience. That doesn't mean that the way they may be forced to do things it's the only one, the best one, nor the preferred by customers.

The LTT Forum is not run by LMG Employee's, we are an all volunteer group/ staff. The Forum is owned by Linus [LMG] but the affiliation only goes as far as the ownership and name. This is a very common and mis-understood thing we have to clear up every so often.

I cannot say how the store is run but iirc its a partnership thingy, they supply and ship the products under the LMG name but are independent of LMG. This is not unusual for this type of thing as it is very common for most YT channels and their merchandise to be supplied by 3rd party. Pricing, shipping the website is run by and maintained by the 3rd party but of LMG has influence of what is made made available and such. For more info you might want to contact LMG directly, as far as I know LMG is pretty transparent about this stuff.

That's your own opinion with no evidence at all to claim it as fact, especially since I myself care, therefore your "no one" is blatantly false.
Fact is, there's a lot of videos and news articles on GPU scalping / prices and even ppl fighting against it as best they can and none at all (as far as I'm aware) for iphones.

Now there's some bad advice if I ever saw some.

There are other reasons to get a 3080 other than for 4k gaming. For example, if game devs decide to implement more of the ray tracing features into games, you're going to greatly benefit from the extra performance over the 3070 (we all know Minecraft with full ray tracing only runs ok at 1080p with view distance lowered with an RTX 2080ti, and don't even attempt to run additional mods on top of it). We've only seen the beginning of RTX potential in other games, so to just assume that an RTX 3070 is all anyone needs if they're not planning on playing at 4k is a very poor way of thinking.

???? This is called LinusTechTips, not UnbiasedTechTips, he said many times, his reviews are his OPINION, and so, he has bias and preferences that will flavor his reviews. But that doesn't mean his, or anyone complaints are unfounded. There's a difference between a complete biased opinion that obviously omitted things, vs an opinion and complaint that's articulated.

    Failing butterfly keyboards,

    Exploding TB3 controllers,
    Dysfunctional fuzes
Sending 50v to the CPU when in a humid room,
Running at 100*C cause cooling is hard,
Asking 2000$ for an SSD upgrade,
Encrypting soldered SSDs and removing lifeboat connector so as to make data recovery impossible,
"Fixing" a desoldered chip by putting a piece of rubber on it.
Making iMAc Power Suuply that can kill you when cl among it (no shielding)
Making a bendable phone before it was cool (6s)
Making a bendable tablet before it was cool (iPad from a year or two ago)
Quoting ridiculous prices to fix working electronics that only need a bit of cleaning.

Subjective. You trying to claim it being the best tablet in the world as a fact is wrong.

I disagree. Most of the time, various devices' shortcomings and issues are far more important than what they do well and as such it is generally a good thing to pay more attention to the shortcomings and issues. Also, in general, I find LTT's videos on Apple's devices to be perfectly fair.

How about instead talking about how embarrassingly lame the battery life still is in 2019 and how the phone call quality and the speakerphone quality still sounds like something from the 80s and how nothing has ever been done to improve them over the 36 years that cell phones have been around? Also, smartphone prices... are you kidding me? So like, if I don't want to spend more than $300 CAD on a phone, because not everyone in the world is rich or dumb enough or wants to get locked into 3+ year contracts, I either have to go with an even crappier throwaway flip phone than I currently have or a phone made by some sketchy manufacturer I know nothing about and is likely to fail in a lot of ways.

To this day, my 10 year old Sony Ericsson W995 still has a far better battery life and speakerphone than any smartphone from any respectable manufacturer (Energizer and Huawei aren't respectable phone manufacturers, and their phones have proven to be garbage / security risk). It's literally the only reason I'm still using my W995. I hate this flip phone but unfortunately it's the only option available to me because I need the battery life, portability and reliability. Also, I don't like the idea of software updates possibly making my phone magically worse without notice. I don't know if phone updates on smartphones can be disabled, but that's definitely something I'd do because that's just crazy.

The only ppl obsessing over these really dumb and pointless "new" feature upgrades in phones (in my opinion) are immature and/or dumb spenders who have no concept of reality or money concerns. I think it's about time someone speaks up about it. "Like, omg, they now have a 2000 megapixel camera phone, I guess I should throw away this 1000 megapixel phone to buy this new one because Linus says the pictures look so much sharper than ever before... now I can take pictures of my toe nails at 1 million resolution and then call my friends using this high tech 8 kbit/s mono sound quality signal". Because that's what matters in life, pictures at a million resolution, not the 8 kbit/s sound quality and the fact that the battery is more likely to run out before the end of the day even though ancient phones can still last several days.

Every mature adult I've spoken to have all admitted to hating every smartphone they've ever owned so far and missed the good old days of phones being prioritized as phones and not mini tablets with phone as an option, and every single one of them are all completely jealous of my phone's battery life. But they all feel like they don't have a choice and are forced into buying expensive smartphones because that's basically all that's available to them. This shouldn't be happening but it is and no one in the media seems to care even though they have most of the influential powers as proven by Linus's 3.5mm jack obsession making a come back in mobile devices.

All the reveal video talked about was the fancy glass and the camera, I personally don't care about glass backs and would rather get a phone with a plastic or metal body as I put my phone in a case anyway. A single or dual camera is enough, adding more cameras just seems like a marketing gimmick to me.
It seems like people would rather have a fragile glass sandwich over something durable, or maybe manufacturers listen to the tech journalists complaining the phone doesn't look or feel good enough, or it needs even more cameras, or the bezels are too big, but a huge notch is somehow a decent compromise. I really miss being able to replace the battery, or to have a wide range of phones to choose from, now you have to pick based on features which should be included on something so expensive, like a headphone jack.
