Keg Ops got a reaction from Ben17 in What's the Oldest Hardware in Your System right now?
Mine would have to be my 2012 iPad 4. I've used this for almost 5 years and I don't see any reason to upgrade, as the screen looks great on it and it is perfect for reading forums, manga, etc. 2012 may not seem to be that long ago, but in tech years I'd say it's a bit aged.

Keg Ops reacted to r2724r16 in Evga 750ti ftw overclocking
Well what do you need recommendations for?
Here's a short GPU overclocking for you:
- Increase the core clock by a bit at a time (maybe 25MHz at a time) and same goes for memory.
- Then you stress test your GPU (run Unigine Valley Benchmark) for some time.
- If the application doesn't crash, then your overclock is stable but if Unigine Valley Benchmark crashes, then your overclock isn't stable.
- If your app crashes, you have two options: either add more voltage or decrease the core/memory clock.

The best thing about that image is how they cleverly hide the notch

Keg Ops reacted to Spotty in Overclocking my 1080ti, thoughts and suggestions!
Overclocking on the 1080ti is pretty pointless in my opinion. The GPU Boost does a pretty good job of overclocking things by itself without you needing to do anything, and will still hit 2000Mhz as long as temperatures are not an issue.
This is my GTX 1080ti with a i7 6700k with stock settings on the card.

If you have the budget for the 1070 go with that, it's a big jump in performance.

Keg Ops got a reaction from General Winter in Rant: How Apple destroys the mainstream knowledge about tech
I agree as an iPhone user that I'm slightly annoyed that Apple doesn't use type c. Did you know that lightning only supports USB 2.0 speeds? Yeah, it makes offloading 4k 60FPS footage an absolute pain for those of us without airdrop.
With that being said I think the reason why they haven't switched away from their proprietary lightning connector is that Apple will probably end up ditching the wired charger sometime in the next 3-4 years and making a fully port-less phone. I think they believe switching to type-c in the meantime would just be a pain for people who have a bunch of lightning accessories/cables to go out and buy type c accessories only to drop it a couple years later anyway. I really hope they upgrade to USB 3.0 speeds though.

Keg Ops got a reaction from Spudbilly in Vega 64 or GTX 1080
I'd wait a little longer for Vega prices to fall
http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1080-vs-AMD-RX-Vega-64/3603vs3933
the performance is pretty comparable, and you'll want to take advantage of free sync

Keg Ops reacted to Lurick in does GPU improves image quality?
Nope, unless the bad GPU can't handle the 1440p resolution (which would probably be an early 2000s GPU/CPU)
Edit:
For a little more clarity, when watching a movie, TV show, etc. you don't need to render anything. It's just pulling the data from the source (disk, server, etc) and displaying it. There needs to be some stuff happening with codecs and whatnot done but even a little ARM processor can handle that stuff so unless you have something REALLY old, then there won't be an issue.
The only time there might be an issue is if you're trying to play something in an unsupported codec by the local machine but that's usually down to the player, browser, etc.

Keg Ops reacted to Techicolors in Is it worth buying an Xbox One X If I already own a great rig?
there's also Xbox Backwards Compat library. i could be wrong but there are a few titles that are further optimized with Xbox One X
RDR2 may come to PC, but probably a while after consoles similar to what they did with GTAV

You probably just left one of your streaming devices on all night and ended up getting a bunch of random videos.

this one is important: if you ever get into a collision, always call the police to the scene and have them file a police report. Even if you get harassed by the other driver or if they try to say that they're in a hurry, let them know that they'll get in trouble for leaving the scene of an accident. Make sure to take photos of the damage and get their plate and insurance. Basic stuff but I've heard horror stories about people who didn't do this and ended up being out several grand in damages.
