300$ is too low that is celeron territory most of the time and low quality stuff 500$ is pretty neat spot to be.

Because if you need to move your computer regularly or use it somewhere there isn't space for a desktop then they are the only sensible option.

L5P is more superior in many ways - 115-130w vs 90-105w 3060, MUX, 16:10 QHD GSYNC 165Hz panel, better cooling etc

    open to other options?

Like i said, i will mostly use the laptop screen as a 2nd monitor cause I have a 24inch 144hz fhd so i don't really care.

I'll check if it's sealed and maybe buy it, thanks.

genexis_x reacted to Tigerleon in MH751 vs G433, upgrade or downgrade?
They are actual good headphones compared to cheaply made from logitech. The MH751's are a reskin of already existing headphones, the takstar pro 82 just with a mic attached. Which means the drivers are much better than the ones on the logitech's. The MH751's are more neutral sounding than the "harsh" G433 as you describe them. I am not 100% sure since I haven't tried the 433's but I can assure you the MH751's are much better sounding.

@LogicalDrm is correct that the power is shared for the fan to spin and the LEDs. As he mentioned lowering the speed can dim the LEDs; but keep in mind that you will see performance degrades the lower you set the voltage. So depending on your cooling needs, this might not be the way to go. @RollinLower suggestion would be the best way to go in my opinion.

At the very least, they put an "M" at the end of the name.

They could've just called it the "RX 6800 Laptop" and omit the word "Laptop" when put on a laptop specsheet, but that "M" does help indicate that it is a weaker product in terms of performance versus the desktop counterpart

since the LEDs are just in the FAN the easiest way would be to get a controllable RGB fan and swap it out

The model you provided seems to be exclusive to Germany, and maybe a few other countries. Anyway, there isn't anything to worry about, it's still an SF314-42, it's the same overall with the main difference being a different amount of soldered ram and a different M.2 ssd. There isn't exactly a way for this to have a noticeably worse battery life or louder fans, it's the same package, just different configuration.

you can't upgrade the RAM, so get 16GB
Ryzen 4000 model is called SF314-42
this newer version doesn't have 2.5 inch bay and memory slots anymore

Sadly to say 3080M=3070 desktop, not 3080 desktop. You can't get desktop like performance for GPU
    Why not Ryzen 5000
Unless you need it (eg content creation) then no.

    yes.. no... kinda...

the japcap trend was because of the so-called "capacitor plague", which is already a debate on what caused it. But the main thing with Japanese caps is that it's more expensive to integrate since most PSU ODMs are in China and will have to import and store a big quantity of them, which because of them having to be under specific conditions, is really expensive. So you won't really see someone use cheap capacitors for that

but that doesn't say that Chinese/Taiwanese/German/US companies can't make as good, if not better capacitors than Japanese and a lot of Japanese companies also have Chinese factories.

and of course, you always have a few claiming they have "100% Japanese capacitors" and when you open them most of it is still Chinese

    genexis_x reacted to Electronics Wizardy in i7 1165g7 vs i7 1185g7
You can't really compare cpus performance between different models like that, as things like thermals and power limits make a huge differences. There can be massive differenes in performance in systems with the same chip.

But those chips are pretty similar in performance, mostly a small clock speed differences.
