Is it worth waiting for the 30 series GPU laptops to be out to buy my first gaming laptop

just a bit more context.   I'm wanting to buy a Lenovo legion 5/7 with a 2060 inside soon, but recently saw somewhere that a 3060 version will be released at some point this year.   Would waiting the extra time and the extra cost be worth it or would I not get a performance increase big enough to be worth it

It'll be worth it in the long run

Old Laptop 2 - HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart, i3-3217U, Intel HD 4000, 4GB, 1TB HDD

It looks like the 3060 is 19% faster in similar tdp laptops so you would be getting a laptop that is roughly 19% faster on average if you waited. Now how long you have to wait and when you can get your hands on the new version is not something I know so you are going to have to do some digging on that. I know some other laptops with 3060 gpus are already in stock at my local microcenter so its not like the gpu side of things is an issue.
