henkka_scorpio reacted to WoodenMarker in Aftermarket Fans for a Corsair h100 v2?
4pin fans support pwm which is one way to power a fan as opposed to dc which is used for 2 or 3pin fans. With dc, voltage is lowered to control rpm whereas pwm uses 12v pulses to control rpm. Since fans need a certain amount of voltage to start, pwm generally allows for a wider range of control. That being said, 4pin fans can also be controlled using dc. Which you should go for will depend on what type of control you have available whether it be a hardware fan controller or headers off of the motherboard and your own preference.
Either is fine with the only thing to watch out for being that pwm fans tend to cost a bit more. If that isn't an issue, just go with the pwm version.
Fans using dc can be noisier than pwm or vice-versa depending on the fan model. Ticking noises occur in most pwm fans due to the pulse but can be mitigated by smoothing the signal and dc fans tend to have a higher min rpm.

Are the current fans on the radiator 3 or 4 pin fans? Where do you have them plugged in? if you have them plugged into the motherboard or a fan controller that has 4 pin PWM then go for 4 pin fans. 4 pin > 3 pin since 4 pin has its own fourth channel for speed control. They tend to be a bit less quiet because of speed fluctuations or something.  I recommend getting a 4 pin unless you only have 3 pin connections on your motherboard, or you have a 3 pin fan controller you want to keep using.

If a Gpu doesn't have PSU connections at the top, then it will be powered. No performance is gained from getting power from the motherboard or PSU. It only matters on your card.

There is no modification to power a Gpu from the PSU. Don't try.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
I believe that PCI-E is capable of providing 75 watts. However since you didn't mention which 1050 Ti it is, we can't know for sure. Most of the 1050 models (without Ti), technically can run without the additional 6-pin cable but only if you're not stressing it too much and not doing any overclocking.

But my question is, why don't you want to provide your GPU with that extra power?

You might be experiencing screen tearing.  You can try putting an fps limit to 144 hz or maybe a bit higher like 160hz. Another option is vsync but it adds latency and if the frames drop it can stutter.

Yeah your right, old habits I guess, though it is more noticeable since there are more tears the further away (higher) the FPS is from the screens refresh rate.

In the game settings make sure the resolution is set to 1920x1080@144hz. Some games don't do that.

If you are using windows 10 You should be able to just right click the file and choose the first option it should be mount. If the option isnt visible IIRC there is a trick to get it to show

Rare BSOD:s arent anything you should be worried about. Especially when playing pubg as it is a bit buggy and ive heard it has some sort of memory leak issues. If it can be replicated then there is a problem. I dont think it is temperature related, but you can check if something is overheating.

I have had my Rift for a few weeks and I still use it daily. There are some great games for example Onward, Lone Echo, Robo recall (included with rift), Pavlov vr, EVE Valkyrie warzone, keep talking and nobody explodes, Arizona sunshine, ETS2 all racing sims, some flying sims. whether its worth it for you or not, it depends. For me it was worth it for the sole reason that I love simracing and vr takes it to a whole new level. Another factor is whether or not you get sick. If possible you should try a friends VR glasses before investing. I'm lucky in that regard, I can play for hours with the glasses on and even frame drops dont seem to bother me at all. I can definetely recommend it if you have the PC to run it.

As far as I have heard from others, you build a tolerance to it. First time you try, you can maybe play for 20 minutes, the next day maybe half an hour and the day after that a little longer. One of my friends got motion sickness fast the first time he tried it  but later could use his headset for over an hour without any signs. If you do decide to step into the VR world, I definetely recommend picking up Onward. The community is mostly very nice and its a really great game with full roomscale support. Also if you need any help or want to ask any questions or just want someone to play in VR with, feel free to add me on steam - henkka_scorpio

Long story short: I got accepted in the beta without knowing the requirements for the internet connection and also I got a laptop that can actually ply some games so I don't need the code, it is not used so if someone can't play games because his/hers pc is bad but has good internet connection here is the code: IgPKsHBD5Iew3fc3d9YtmCFw

25 Mbps  is the required internet connection, don't use the code if you don't need it or whatever.

Kind of unrelated but have you tried opening the pc and cleaning it up? you can use compressed air or a microfiber cloth (on unsensitive parts). Or it could be a fan failing too.
On that waterblock I dont think its going to work on a palit version since its meant for reference designs only, though I dont know if Palit uses the same board layout as reference so someone with more info can verify?
