if you're an AMD fan, I recon you should wait for Zen to come out. Changing motherboards will also get you access to some newer features like NVME and usb 3.1/thunderbolt etc... I think when Zen comes out you will be able to get a new CPU and mobo for around 400-450 AUD if you're willing to save up a bit more.

Are you talking about AI suite ? if so, start AI suite then go into the fan control tab and reset all controls to default, or use it to set your fans at whatever RPM you want.

On a more serious note, let yourself feel like shit for a bit.
When I feel like total shit, I accept that I feel like that and just let it happen for however long it takes.
No need to stress about it and don't put pressure yourself to feel better.
No one feels great all the time.

    shit like physically or emotionally?
    Or both?
It's hard to fight the feeling of lethargy. And often, because of my diet and the little time and sleep I have as of late, I feel physically sick as well. The best I can do is get up, drink a big ass glass of water, through some music on, and get to work. I just power through it.

That said, if I had time to even cook for myself like I used to, I would. Diet, at least for me, is 50% of why I feel good or bad physically. Doesn't even mean a great healthy diet, just eating what you feel like you want and can handle instead of like fast food and pizza.  And play games. Thing is, since this is all really ambiguous, the one piece of advice I can give is don't like yourself feel like shit for feeling like shit, and don't feel shitty for doing what you feel like doing. Play games, watch anime or movies depending on what you're into. In the past, when I had problems getting up in the morning but wasn't as busy as I am now, that if I forced myself to do something instead of mindlessly browse reddit or stare at the wall, I felt better, even if only for a while. This meant turning a new game on or starting a new series. Right, you may not be in the mood, but you don't get that feeling of wasting time. Mindlessly browsing the internet is wasting time, playing games or watching a series isn't in the same sense, you are getting something out of it.

Kazetana reacted to Enderman in Why Linus is wrong (another macbook topic)
So this is mostly about the wan show, but I have seen several other people also just hate on apple without actually understanding why the macbook pro has (what I would call) the best I/O on a device ever made.

    1)
First of all, some people said they can't plug their UBS devices into it without an adapter.
This is not true. The ports are still USB ports, just with the new C connector.
All USB devices can be plugged in without any active adapters.
Devices with a removable cable can just have a cable replaced with a USB-C to whatever, instead of the regular USB-A to whatever.
Stuff like USB drives with a fixed connector will need an adapter, but in the future all USB devices will use the C connector anyway.

    2)
They are more than just USB ports.
This is a combination of power delivery + USB 3.1 + displayport + hdmi +thunderbolt.
THIS is what I call progress. ONE type of connector which can do everything. Why have 10 different types of ports and 10 different types of cables when you can combine them all into one?
Having the same cable and connector for all devices will make everything easier in the future.

This may seem like a stretch right now, since few devices have USB-C and you have to use USB-C to DP, or USB-C to HDMI, but the only way to switch everything to USB-C is by starting off with a product like this one.
It's not hard to imagine 3 years from now where everything is connected using USB-C cables and you don't need to worry about where you left your extra HDMI or whatever.

Remember serial cables and printer cables and gameport cables? Well those got replaced by USB-A.
Now USB-C will also be replacing power and display cables.

    3)
USB-C is the BEST connection to support today and in the future.
I'm sure everyone can see the billions of devices with USB-A on it, well USB-C is better, and the best way to make it widespread is by forcibly switching to it.
Only a handful of PC cases, phones, motherboards, etc. have USB-C. By putting it on what is one of the highest selling laptops in the world, millions more people will begin switching too USB-C.
Yes it is forced. In case you haven't noticed, this is the only way to get people to switch quickly, especially with majority of old people who resist change like it's life or death.

    4)
It might have been sarcasm, but why was @LinusTech complaining about 4 ports being too many??
Hypocritical much? Complain about the macbook not having enough, then 4 is too many?
I think 4 is more than enough, considering the daisy chaining capabilities of Thunderbolt 3, which will make it so most of the time you only need 1-2 connectors for everything.

    5)
    @Slick mentioned laptop docks.
If you watch the conference, they show that you can easily connect everything that most people need through a single connector.
External displays, external storage, power, peripherals, etc....
Nobody needs a laptop dock if you can literally plug in one cable and have everything connected

    6)
Power can be supplied from any connector or either side.
Yes, the magsafe connector is gone, but hey look, more hypocritical people.
First complain about apple using proprietary stuff, and when they switch to a global standard like USB, then complain that the proprietary connector is no longer there.
Seriously, USB-C is the future whether you like it or not, and it is already becoming popular on phones.
Having the same connectivity on a laptop again benefits the "only one type of cable" reason.

    7)
Progress, again requires the use of a lot of force.
More people buying macbook pros = more people using USB-C = more manufacturers adding USB-C to their devices.
USB drives, monitors, external storage, peripherals, etc...
This benefits EVERYBODY, since we will all be using USB-C in a few years.
Again, USB-C is the global standard, not a proprietary macbook connector. It will be on your PC case and you might even have a motherboard with some USB-C already.

    8)
Please watch the conference or read some articles about the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports before ranting about the macbook pro.
USB-C is soon to replace almost every type of port on the back of your PC, and this is a great jump-start to get the industry into production.

    TL;DR
    1) the ports on the macbook are still USB, all you need is a new USB-C cable, no active adapters or stuff
    2) they can also do hdmi, thunderbolt, displayport, and power
    3) the USB-C connector is the future, and soon everything will use it
    4) 4 ports is enough because most of the time you can connect everything through 1-2 with the use of daisy chaining
    5) connecting an entire setup by plugging in 1 connector is what people have wanted for decades
    6) yes magsafe is gone, but replaced by a non-proprietary global standard, USB-C. You will be able to use the same cable on all your devices, not just apple.
    7) forcing people to use USB-C is the fastest way to push the industry into more USB-C on devices/accessories, which benefits everyone, not just apple users
    8) hopefully you learnt something today about why USB-C is a great way of pulling the future towards us at an accelerated rate.
    9) gnight, I'll reply to everyone tomorrow

This is usually happens at lower volumes on certain amplifiers.  AFAIK the only solution is to find a different amp, or leave it at the volume where it doesn't occur.

take and re-seat the GPU. if it still does it, move it to a different PCI slot if you have it available to see if the slot was damaged. If your HDD was damaged, you would get bluescreens and failures to load up etc.. artifacts and glitching is GPU or the slot its plugged into. Could also be the CPU if it was jarred loose.

Second thought.. best to take the full system apart and rebuild it and reseat everything.

Kazetana reacted to Progressor in Thermal Compound Application Methods Benchmark
Come on Luke, how can you test this at 47 degrees C and expect any results.. Sometimes it looks as you guys have no idea what you're doing. The purpose of a thermal compound is to transfer heat. HEAT, yes guys HEAT! You need to push the thermal paste to it's maximum heat transfer limit, that's when other factors such as spreading start to make the difference, at 47 C there is simply not enough heat transfer for the spreading method to "bottleneck" the thermal paste. I'll repeat that again, you need high enough temperatures(80 C should do) so the spreading method becomes a bottleneck(at least the incorrect applying methods) to the heat transfer! Yes, all of this probably wouldn't matter for someone who has a CPU with good TDP or runs it at stock but for an overclocker or someone with a bad cpu it would make enough difference(GPU usage applies too). As someone who has to deal with an old overheating laptop(which if I didn't mod correctly wouldn't even boot into windows before it overheats), everything makes a difference when it comes to high temperatures.

Okay kiddies, gather 'round the fire its story time.

Back in Oct? I ordered ...3 LTT edition fans, with the intention of replacing the orange parts with white when the Chromax products launched. I make sure everything is on the up and up that they will fit and how long they wil ltake to come out, I am assured "Soon"

So the weeks go by, im checking their product listings, their twitter, news anything to get an idea when they will be coming out, occasionally asking if they have any updates since this is a fairly minor product i doubt they are going to make a big deal over it, I keep getting assured "soon."

Early Jan comes around and I check their twitter and find out they released them and you can get them on Amazon.com. Great! I head over to amazon.ca being im in canada annnnnnnnd nothing...hmm okay, check Amazon.com. Sure enough they are there..but they wont ship to canada.

Okay fine, i know canada gets dicked around on this stuff alot so cool..lets see what they say, I ask when we are getting em, im told 3 weeks it'll be on Amazon.ca. Okay kinda blows but its reasonable and understandable.

3 weeks come and go...still nothing. I go back to twitter again asking whats up, they apologize and let me know that its in amazons hands right now, but they give me a link to a Us site that will ship here...they want like $30 to ship here though. Thanks for trying to help Noctua but im not spending $50 on some silicon. (not that that is your fault of course you dont control shipping)

Another week or 2 goes by and once again I ask in they have any word from amazon, they say no and mention the previously mentioned site again, I say thank you but they wanted alot $30-$40 in shipping so I cant and they tell me oh no its understandable. at which point they tell me to email their Press Dept.

So I do, explain the above situation again, and they apologize and asking me what I need. I explain I need 2 boxes of white NA-SAVP1s and 1 box of white NA-SAV2s.

They confirm for my situation thats what i need and say it will be shipped out this week and will be there in 14 days. Nothing more

At this point  im thinking ..there is no way in hell they just gave me $30 in free product its going to be Cash on Demand when it arrives.

And then we reach today 14 days later, on the dot and I open up my mail box and what do I find...the 3 boxes of parts I need, all the way from Austria and it didn't1 cost me a single cent.
